The ‘Law and Order: Special Victims Unit’ actor was joined by his wife Coco Austin, their seven-year-old daughter Chanel Nicole and his pals when receiving the honor in a Friday, February 17 ceremony.
AceShowbiz –Ice-T has proven haters wrong with his latest achievement. The “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” star has received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but he didn’t forget to thank trolls for “motivating” him to be the best.
The 65-year-old got the honor on Friday, February 17. He was joined by his wife Coco Austin and their seven-year-old daughter Chanel Nicole, “Law and Order: SVU” co-star Mariska Hargitay, the series creator Dick Wolf as well as fellow rapper Chuck D.
During his acceptance speech, Ice-T said, “I’d like to thank everybody that came up and said all that stuff about me,” referring to Hargitay, Wolf and Chuck D. “I wore these sunglasses not for fashion, but I knew they (the speakers) might make me cry.”
The emcee, born Tracy Lauren Marrow, went on to note, “Last but not least. I want to thank the motherf**kin’ haters, ’cause you really make me get up in the morning and be the best that I can be.” He added, “All the naysayers, all the people that wanted to end my career, now I’m on the Walk of Fame … and that’s the motivation! You’ve got to let the haters motivate you.”
“If it wasn’t for the haters, I definitely wouldn’t have pulled this off, I swear to God,” the father of three continued. He then quipped, “I’m gonna give you so much more to hate in the future.”
Ice-T is no stranger to criticism. He and his wife Coco have been parent-shamed over the years. In late January, the actor was forced to defend their daughter Chanel for twerking in a Christmas video.
Taking to Instagram, Ice-T shared a picture that read, “Everyone is going to hate you anyway …so you might as well give them a reason.” In the caption, meanwhile, he encouraged his followers to take the advice by writing, “Christmas is over.. My advice is you go into 2023 with THIS attitude if you want to WIN.
