Normal business will resume on Sunday evening when ITV show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! kicks off in Australia following two years of forced relocation prompted by the global coronavirus pandemic.

Winter in Wales will be traded for the preferable sunshine and showers of rural New South Wales as twelve new contestants prepare for three weeks of gruelling Bushtucker Trials in its spiritual home during what promises to be an eventful 22nd series.

Eighties pop legends will rub shoulders with rugby royalty, reality TV stars and, er, former government Health Secretaries from Sunday November 6, with Boy George, Mike Tindall, Olivia Attwood and Matt Hancock leading this year’s list of jungle luminaries.

Elsewhere hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly will be back to preside over each trial, but who else is in the line-up, who are the bookies favourites and how can viewers watch it? Here MailOnline tells you everything you need to know about the new series!

Which stars are in the line-up this year?

Leading this year’s lineup are rugby star Mike Tindall, 80s hitmaker Boy George, Love Island star Olivia Attwood and DJ Chris Moyles, with the stars donning their best jungle attire for first look snaps ahead of the show’s return on November 6.

Joining them will be Hollyoaks star Owen Warner, Loose Women’s Charlene White, A Place In The Sun presenter Scarlette Douglas, Coronation Street actress Sue Cleaver, comedian Babatúndé Aléshé and retired England Lioness Jill Scott.

It was revealed on Tuesday that Matt Hancock is also heading to the Australian jungle as a surprise late arrival.

The MP, who quit as Health Secretary after cheating on his wife during the pandemic with long-term aide Gina Coladangelo, will become the 12th celebrity heading Down Under.

After playing a central role in coordinating the government’s response to Covid, Mr Hancock’s political career has flagged of late, and last week he was snubbed by Rishi Sunak after the new PM dodged his attempt at a greeting outside Tory HQ.

He becomes the latest in a long list of political figures to try their luck on the ITV reality show, including MPs Nadine Dorries and Lembit Opik, and Boris Johnson’s father, Stanley.

Former UK Health secretary Matt Hancock has been announced as a late entry into this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here lineup.

Bookies have already earmarked him as an outsider to win the series, with William Hill pricing the former politician at odds of 10-1.

Jill Scott and Mike Tindall remain the early front runners to take the crown, despite Hancock’s late addition, at 10-3 and 9-2 respectively, according to William Hill.

They are followed by 80’s pop sensations Boy George, Radio X DJ Chris Moyles and former Love Island star Oliva Attwood who are all priced at 11-2.

Commenting on the latest cast additions, William Hill spokesperson Lee Phelps said, ‘Matt Hancock is a fascinating inclusion to this year’s series.

‘The show has never shied away from getting controversial figures on board and this one will be up there with the most talked about in the show’s history.

‘It will be very interesting to see how he gets on, as you can see from our odds, he is a long shot to be crowned this year’s winner but you would imagine the public will choose him for his fair share of bushtucker trials.’

Meanwhile Matt is 2/1 to break the record of doing the most bushtucker trials (7) after sensationally joining this year’s I’m a Celeb cast on Tuesday

Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: ‘Matt Hancock will be returning as a regular face on our TV screens this year after sensationally joining this year’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! cast.

‘The former health secretary is 2/1 to surpass Naughty Boy’s record of seven by doing the most bushtucker trials in history, while he is 4/1 to be the first departure from the jungle.’

How to watch the series: What time is it on and on which channel?

I’m A Celebrity begins on Sunday, November 6 2022 at 9pm with a 105 minute special. It will then air every night of the week and both weekend nights after the launch – all at 9pm.

The series start date is a little earlier than usual, with the series starting two weeks before the FIFA World Cup kicks off in Qatar.

In 2021, the series began on Sunday 21 November – and in recent years it has kicked off on one of the middle two Sundays.

It’s not yet known how long the series will run for, although in previous years it’s been on screens for around three weeks.

After two years at Gwrych Castle in Abergele, Wales, the series is returning to its usual setting in the Australian jungle.

Who will host the series?

The nation’s favourite Geordie duo, Ant and Dec, will once again be hosting the ITV reality show.

The pair previously said in February that they wanted to get back to Australia after having to host in rainy Wales for two years.

Ant said: ‘Well, the plan is the jungle, so if all things…,’ to which Dec chimed in: ‘Nothing against Wales!’

Yay! The nation’s favourite Geordie duo, Ant and Dec, will once again be hosting the ITV reality show

Ant then added: ‘We love Wales but you know, Australia is its home and we’d like to get back there if we can.’

His co-host Dec said: ‘That’s what we’re hoping, touch wood.’

In a statement this autumn, ITV said: ‘Autumn also brings I’m A Celebrity which makes a welcome return to ITV from the Australian jungle.’

Who are the past celebrity winners?

The 2021 series of the show was won by former Emmerdale star Danny Miller.

The actor, best known as the ITV soap’s Aaron Dingle, took the prize after fighting off competition from Corrie’s Simon Gregson and The Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge.

Danny, who entered camp just weeks after the birth of his son, said of his victory: ‘I have made no secret about the fact that I wanted to be able to give him and set him up for a good future.

‘I wasn’t financially set for that and this is an opportunity to do that. It would set me and my family up. I feel like I have done it. I feel proud of myself and I hope my family are as well.’

Giovanna Fletcher was the first person to win the Welsh version of the show the year before.

Other Australia winners include Harry Redknapp, Vicky Pattison, Stacey Solomon, Giovanna Fletcher, Jacqueline Jossa, Georgia Toffolo, Scarlett Moffatt and Carl Fogarty.
