Matt Hancock, 44, placed third in the 2022 series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!. Upon being voted off the show, the MP was greeted by his girlfriend Gina Coladangelo in a PDA-packed display.

Following Sunday’s episode of I’m A Celebrity, which saw Lioness Jill Scott crowned Queen of the Jungle, the celebrities returned to the JW Marriott hotel on the gold coast. 

Like the singers, actors and sportspeople around him, Matt revelled in his celebrity status and even found himself being bombarded by fans. 

With a mile-wide grin, the former health secretary posed for selfies with supporters outside the hotel after arriving hand-in-hand with his girlfriend Gina.

Matt and Gina were spotted draped over each other, with some fearing they were about to see the couple reenact the very same images which made him a parliamentary disgrace last year.  

However, The Mirror has reported that the mood shifted once the cameras left, and the couple appeared to be having a heated conversation as they headed inside. 

In June 2021, after leading the country through the pandemic as health secretary, Matt was forced to resign when CCTV footage emerged showing him breaking his own rules on physical contact with his then-aide. 

While the revelation ended his stint as health secretary, it also ended his 15-year-long marriage. 

Following the I’m A Celebrity results, Matt was also seen in a PDA moment with pop icon Boy George. 

The singer posted a reel to Instagram as he panned the camera around the set, yelling to someone: “She hates me!”

The camera then moved to Matt as he gave George a huge kiss on the cheek. 

The celebrities are expected to be spending today celebrating surviving the jungle and Jill’s win before heading home on Tuesday.  

The MP claimed his motivation to appear on the show was to promote dyslexia awareness and he will be continuing his advocacy work when he returns. 

On Friday, Matt is presenting a dyslexia bill to the House of Commons according to his representative. 

However, he was suspended from the Tory party when it was revealed he had signed up for the show as a late entry. 

It is currently unclear whether he will be readmitted upon his return. 

Matt has also reportedly signed up for Channel 4’s SAS Who Dares Wins. 

The series is due to be released next year and Matt’s apparent affiliation with it has raised questions about whether the politician intends to establish himself as a television personality. 

Ian Houlder, a Tory councillor in Matt’s constituency of West Suffolk, spoke to The Mirror yesterday saying he doesn’t believe Matt will even return to politics. 

He said: “I believe he doesn’t want to be an MP anymore, but he’s got a couple of years to sort out his options.

“If the Tory party don’t let him back in he won’t get anywhere as an independent. If they do let him back in I think there’ll be a lot of people who want to challenge him.”
