The extravagant set also included several luxurious effects, as Adele performed in front of her full band. She performed her track “Set Fire to the Rain” alongside an onstage storm and a flame-engulfed piano, while her staging of her James Bond theme “Skyfall” featured a 24-piece string section.



The “I Drink Wine” singer previously spoke with Elle about the reasoning behind her postponement, saying that she wasn’t happy with the previous stage setup. She also opened up about the disappointment she felt after the January announcement.

“There was just no soul in it,” she said. “The stage setup wasn’t right. It was very disconnected from me and my band, and it lacked intimacy. And maybe I tried too hard to give it those things in such a controlled environment.”

“The first couple of months was really, really hard,” she added. “I was embarrassed. But it actually made my confidence in myself grow, because it was a very brave thing to do. And I don’t think many people would have done what I did. I’m very proud of myself for standing by my artistic needs.”
