Jacqueline Jossa admitted everyone “makes mistakes” before it was reported that her husband Dan Osborne is facing no further police action following his shock arrest in November.
Candidly chatting to fans in an Instagram Live, Jacqueline, 30, spoke out about the pressures of living life in the spotlight.
“I feel like I can talk privately on here,” she confessed. “Sometimes I think it’s unfair that people in the public eye or celebrities are put on a pedestal and can never make mistakes or say anything, or never disagree with an opinion that isn’t the opinion of most, or never have your own opinion.”
Jacqueline, who is mum to daughters Ella, seven, and Mia, four, with former TOWIE star Dan, 31, also shared her experience with trolls as she recalled receiving a nasty message from a stranger.
She said: “Someone wrote yesterday, ‘You can tell you’ve never worked a day in your life,’ and I was like, ‘Fair enough, my first job was EastEnders and I’ve never worked a normal 9-5 day in an office.’
“I scrolled up on her messages and I thought, ‘Isn’t that sad and strange because in the above comment you’re being really nice, like, “Your daughters are so beautiful,” and then the last two were really negative and nasty words,’ and I thought, ‘Just unfollow.’”
She continued: “It’s strange to follow people you don’t like. I’d love to understand it. I’d like to meet the trolls. I’d love to meet the people that find it fun. You only get one life, don’t be a c**t. There are people spending their time being horrible to people they don’t know.”
While Jacqueline often brushes off the negativity, she did admit that it can be hurtful. “Sometimes I listen to trolls’ opinions too much,” she said. “I need to be reminded that there’s so much that goes on in my life that people don’t see, that I don’t parade about or talk about on here.
“I’m just having the January blues and this illness [a cough] on top obviously isn’t helping. I want to feel myself again, I want to get back to the gym, I want to start eating better but I just feel meh. This January has not been the one.”
Jacqueline also took to Instagram to reiterate she has “slowed down” in January, before adding: “I’m taking my time and easing into 2023 and that’s OK.”
Soon after Jacqueline spoke out, it was reported that Dan will not face charges after he was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) and actual bodily harm (ABH) in November 2022 at Jacqueline’s 30th birthday party.
Dan, who is also dad to nine-year-old son Teddy from a previous relationship, had been due to appear in court last Thursday. But Essex Police confirmed he “has been told he faces no further action”.
Last year, police were called to the couple’s home and Dan was arrested. He was held overnight following an alleged “mass brawl” at 3.30am, which left one reveller with a broken jaw. He was released on bail the following day.
A source close to the couple previously told new that Jacqueline had been left feeling “upset and embarrassed” after the incident overshadowed her EastEnders return.
At the time, she was preparing to see her role as Lauren Branning reprised for Dot Branning’s funeral, in a special one-off episode in tribute to the late June Brown, on the BBC soap.
“Jacqueline will feel embarrassed about the whole thing,” a source said. “They’ve been portraying such a great family unit and they’ve been in a really good place recently. There hasn’t been any drama for a long time, so for this to come out and overshadow her TV return isn’t ideal.
“Jacqueline gets upset by people’s opinions. She’s got a thick skin, but it’s hard not to be bothered about what people say sometimes.”
