The professional boxer makes the tweet after he condemned the fatal shooting of Migos star Takeoff, as he writes on his page, ”Senseless killings need to stop.’
AceShowbiz –Jake Paul has landed in hot water over his recent social media post. The YouTube star found himself being dragged by online users after telling the youth to pick up boxing gloves instead of guns while he tried to denounce violence.
In a Twitter post, the 25-year-old declared, “To all the youth…put down the guns and pick up some boxing gloves to settle your differences.” He added, “Violence is not the answer.”
Many took issues with Jake’s statement. One person in particular blasted him, “telling ppl to resolve their differences by boxing and immediately following that up with saying violence isnt a viable solution… you just gotta be thee dumbest mf that ever existed.” Another commented, “tone deaf ain’t the word.”
The criticism did not stop there. More came forward with one writing, “Tells us to solve our problems with a different kind of violence.” A different individual argued, “ur so stupid and i don’t understand how u have a fanbase or even people irl who support u like shut up what are u even talking about.” Someone else, meanwhile, asked, “disapproving of violence while… still promoting violence?”
Jake made the tweet after he condemned the fatal shooting of rapper Takeoff. “Senseless killings need to stop. Need to unify. RIP TAKEOFF,” the professional boxer penned.
Takeoff, whose real name was Kirshnik Khari Ball, was killed following an “altercation” at the 810 Billiards and Bowling Houston in Texas during the early hours of Tuesday morning, November 1. He was reportedly with his uncle Quavo at the time.
“Takeoff and Quavo were there playing dice when an altercation broke out and that’s when someone opened fire, shooting Takeoff either in the head or near his head,” a source told TMZ. “He was pronounced dead at the scene.”
