Jeff Brazier labelled lockdown as make or break with wife as he announces split

Jeff Brazier announced he and his wife Kate Dwyer have separated after being married for four years.

The former couple tied the knot in 2018 after being together for almost a decade, but Jeff, 43, announced the news of his and Kate's separation after struggling to make things work this year.

"My 9 year relationship ended earlier in the year and I’ve been working through that on top of supporting someone close to me who is going through something difficult," he said.

And speaking exclusively to OK! last year, Jeff said lockdown was "make or break" for him and Kate after realising there was no "quality" in their marriage.

"Lockdown would make or break a relationship and it just depends on how well you do in each other's company," he shared.

"I've always said we're at our best when we're together but we've both had busy lives in different directions."

Jeff – who is dad to his and Jade Goody's sons Bobby, 19, and 18 year old Freddy – went on to discuss their time in lockdown: "When Kate would walk through the door at eight o'clock, it feels like a million years ago.

"She'd walk through the door, she'd be tired, she'd be stressed, we'd have dinner and that would kind of be it. Where's the quality to be had in that?"

He said further: "Now, we wake up early, we encourage each other to train, we walk the dog together on a daily basis and that's all quality time, that's all into the bank.

"It's really not hard, I guess, to realise why things would be going better."

In his announcement of their split, Jeff said he has never felt "loneliness like it" as he continued to update his followers.

"The boys and I have recently moved home to a new area & I spend most of the time alone as the boys obviously have their own things going on," he wrote.

"It’s been constant change this year and I’m good with adapting but the combination of things have left me low at times and I’ve honestly never felt loneliness like it. Can we put Christmas back a few months?!"

The dad of two finished his post by writing: "I know there are many of us out there that find it easier to support than be supported but here’s to a better balance of the two in 2023, we need it and deserve it.

"Well that wasn’t so hard after all. I hope if you need to level with a few people about how things are for you, it encourages you to do the same."

Many of Jeff's celebrity pals rushed to comment with messages of support, including Lisa Snowdon.

"Hey darling. Sending you a big hug and know that I’m here if you wanna have a chat or a boogie," she wrote.

Emmerdale star Adam Thomas, 34, penned two love heart emojis to give Jeff his best wishes.
