Jennifer Aniston, 54, was left grief-stricken when her beloved dad and Days of Our Lives star John Aniston died last November aged 89.

Sources have told the MailOnline that the Friends actress has been leaning on her ex-husband Justin Theroux as she continues to grieve.

The pair divorced in 2017 after just two years of marriage, with a source telling the outlet that the actor rings Jennifer “every day to console her”.

Despite their split, the two have indicated they have kept a close relationship, being pictured enjoying various dinners and holidays together.

Jennifer lost her mom, Nancy Dow, in 2016, with the pair known to have had a strained relationship throughout her career.

She was also estranged from her father for years but had been on good terms with him at the time of his death.

The Hollywood star is said to have had a hard time coping with the loss and even reached out to her dad’s Days Of Our Lives co-stars and hosted them at her home.

An insider told the MailOnline: “Jennifer has sent his friends gifts and called them and remembered their birthdays and been a real sweetie.

“She has been incredibly generous and has had his friends up to her house for parties to talk about the good old days with John.”

John appeared on the soap opera on and off as Victor Kiriakis from 1985 until his death, however, the show is yet to address his character’s absence.

The aforementioned outlet has reported that the show plans to kill off his character in a plane crash, much to Jennifer’s disappointment.

They confirmed: “Jennifer hates to fly so this has rubbed her the wrong way but what can she do? They have to explain Victor’s death on the show.

“The funeral show is expected to air sometime in late August, or early September.”

Jennifer was previously married to Brad Pitt, with the pair meeting in 1994, and tieing the knot in 2000.

However, allegations of infidelity began to surface when Brad started working on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith in 2004 alongside Angelina Jolie.

In January 2005, the couple shared the sad news that after nearly five years of marriage, they were separating.

Despite their divorce which was finalized in October 2005, Jennifer and Brad have remained friends.
