The Tanya McQuoid depicter on ‘The White Lotus’ dances to ‘Hit the Road Jack’ at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles after her acceptance speech is cut off.
AceShowbiz –Jennifer Coolidge‘s name is listed on Twitter’s trending topic list. “The White Lotus” actress is trending on the blue bird app after her dancing moment at the 2022 Emmy Awards goes viral.
On Monday, September 12, the Tanya McQuoid depicter on the hit HBO series won her first-ever Emmy trophy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. The 61-year-old actress took the stage for her trophy after being presented by “Grey’s Anatomy” actress Chandra Wilson and “The Good Doctor” star Freddie Highmore.
“Wow, thank you, gosh,” Jennifer, clad in a sequined green dress, said. “What a night!” She added, “I just want to say to my fellow nominees, just to be in your company is incredible,” while looking around the room.
Jennifer continued, “I just want to say I took a lavender bath tonight right before the show, and it made me swell up inside my dress, and I’m having a hard time speaking.” The “Legally Blondes” actress then pulled up a piece of paper and thanked her producers and her team. “I love you,” she said. As she went through the list, the play-off music began. “Wait, hold on, this is a once-in-a-lifetime thing, and I’m full,” she told the Emmys team, asking for some extra time.
Jennifer then continued to read her list of thank yous, but then the music changed, this time with “Hit the Road Jack” by Charles in the background. Knowing her speech was over at that point, she started dancing before accepting her award and walking offstage.
After her impromptu dance, Jennifer impressed the crowd inside the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, including co-stars and fellow nominees Connie Britton and Sydney Sweeney as they both applauded her impromptu dance.
Social media fans were also highly entertained by the moment. “Jennifer Coolidge deciding to dance when the #Emmys attempted to play her off is a truly perfect moment,” a social media user tweeted. Another opined, “I laughed out loud when she started to dance. Truly iconic. No one will be able to top that, and be funnier.” A third added, “Need to feel better, watch this clip on loop. Oh my goddess, I love Jennifer Coolidge!!!”
