Ellen squirms after awkward Jessica Simpson pregnancy gag
Jessica Simpson has been in the public eye for over two decades and has been criticised for every minor and major change to her body, weight and style over the years.
Now, as the 43-year-old mum debates returning to her music career, she urged the online trolls to stop saying that her young children are started to be affected by it.
Speaking to Access Hollywood, the singer declared: “It just doesn’t need to be a conversation.”
“Now my kids see me being still scrutinised and it’s very confusing to them because they’re like; ‘I don’t even understand this, why don’t they say you look pretty mom?’
“I wish I could explain it. I wish I could say that it’s gotten better but it remains the same.”

The Where Your Are singer shares three children with her husband, Eric Johnson; Maxwell Drew, 11, Ace Knute, nine, and Birdie Mae, four, and has tried to instill the values that they don’t have to look like anyone or be a certain size.
The popstar candidly revealed that her eldest had actually asked her if she should be “insecure” about being the tallest student in her grade.
Jessica simply told her daughter: “The fact you’re asking me if you should be insecure means absolutely not!”
She concluded: “I think more than weight that people focus on, we need to focus on our mentality about even talking about weight.”

Despite the relentless criticisms she’s faced for her fluctuating weight over the years, the Open Book author chose to look at it as an advantage.
She revealed that having experience at “every size” helped her while designing her clothing brand, the Jessica Simpson collection, as she understood firsthand the needs of a range of body types and “how deserving they are of fashion and style”.
The Irresistible singer added: “It’s been a beautiful thing.”
Over her 24 years in the public eye, the 43-year-old has been on a dramatic weight loss journey, reaching her heaviest of 260lbs during her pregnancy with her youngest daughter and trying to return to the “gold standard” she had created for her body decades earlier.
In 2005, the 24-year-old made a foray into Hollywood starring in The Dukes of Hazzard film and noted that her image in the flick has been used as her “before” photo every time her weight shifted throughout the rest of her career.
