A Place In The Sun presenter Jonnie Irwin shared an update on his health with fans after getting a chest infection amid his terminal cancer diagnosis.
Jonnie, who told fans last November that his lung tumour had spread to his brain, posted a photo of himself in a Salt Room on Instagram, where he's receiving treatment for the infection. He also shared a snap of the empty room, enjoying some alone time.
"Hitting my chest infection from all sides; antibiotics (I tried to ride it out but was getting worse) 2 hours this morning in my @o2worx hyperbaric chamber and now down at @sereniti_health breathing deeply in the Salt Room," he wrote alongside the photos.
"So relaxing and got this place to myself! All wrapped up and relaxed. I feel I've got some great and knowledgeable people around me atm. #saltylips #alternativetherapies #healthspa #healthandwellness."
Fans were quick to comment on how well Jonnie looked.
One follower commented: "I've honestly thought how much better you have looked recently on your photos . You are doing amazingly," while another said: "You look amazing Jonnie! But don't try to ride anything out – if you need the antibiotics they'll sort that chest infection out quickly. You are a total inspiration and your stories about your gorgeous boys never fail to brighten my day. I just want you to carry on like this for many many years to come."
Another follower wrote: "Sending best wishes to the bravest inspiring man I know."
Last week, Jonnie made his fans happy when he returned to TV work amid his brave health battle.
The dad-of-three was told he had only six months to live after being diagnosed with stage four lung cancer in 2020, but he has continued to defy the odds and regularly shares health updates with his 225,000 Instagram followers.
Jonnie posted a picture of himself working in Newcastle for BBC Morning Live, which his fans loved.
"So good to be back filming for @bbcmorninglive," he wrote. "We've just shot to short films about renovating your home and what to look out for. I think my smug smile betrays the lack of a massive commute for once and the extra couple of hours I got in my scratcher as we filmed in Newcastle Upon Tyne. I'll let you know when they are due to go out, when I know myself."
One of his fans commented: "You are looking so well – much better than you have been for quite some time. Keep fighting the good fight."
Another fan added: "Wonderful to see you back, your looking really well, what ever your doing it's working."
