Josie Gibson has admitted that she shared an emotional goodbye with her five year old son, Reggie, before she jetted off to Australia, amid rumours she is set to star in I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
The 38 year old TV star, who often presents ITV's This Morning, was seen arriving at Brisbane airport on Sunday, 12 November, however, she refused to confirm if she is indeed going on I'm A Celeb – instead telling reporters that she was in Australia for a "weight loss retreat".
She revealed that it was "hard saying goodbye" to her five-year-old son Reggie, who she shares with ex-boyfriend, Terry, revealing: "He [Reggie] is only five. Oh, it was really emotional saying goodbye. I can talk about it. I feel so emotional."
Speaking of her visit Down Under, Josie said: "I'm really excited to be here in Australia, I have never been here before."
She continued being coy as she continued: "What am I scared of? Well, I am here for a weight loss retreat, so I don't know what you are talking about."
Trying to get more answers out of her, Josie was probed on whether the diet would consist of rice and beans.
She laughed and added: "On the weight loss retreat? Well if that's the programme then that is the programme."
Josie made time to plug This Morning as she made her way through the airport, throwing in a compliment about her sometimes-co-host Craig Doyle.
She said: "Craig is so nice, I think he is with Cat Deeley on Wednesday and then Rylan [Clark] too. So, make sure you don't miss it!"
Josie became a household name in 2010 when she went on Big Brother, and she proved such a hit with fans that she went on to win the show.
It propelled her to stardom and a career on the small screen, including an appearance on Ultimate Big Brother later on in 2010.
Josie then presented Channel 5’s OK! TV as well as Big Brother’s Bit On The Side, and she also appeared on Loose Women, Celebrity Wedding Planner, Celebrity Juice, Let’s Do Lunch With Gino and Mel and Live from Studio Five.
Josie started her This Morning duties in 2019, as a features presenter, before she stepped up her role and began presenting on the main show in 2021.
Fast-forward a few years and Josie has become one of the main hosts of the show, first as a guest-presenter, and then more regularly since the departure of Phillip Schofield in May 2023, followed by Holly Willoughby's exit in October.
The star is adored by her fans, and she is currently the bookmakers' current favourite to win this year's I'm A Celebrity.
