Viral sensation Salt Bae’s new London restaurant has shocked food lovers with it's prices, with a single steak costing £630 while a bottle of water or a Coke comes in £9.

But that didn't put off Kate and Rio Ferdinand, who took their infant son to try out the new eatery for dinner this weekend.

Kate, who married Rio in 2019 and gave birth to baby Cree last year, posted footage of the family outing to her Instagram story.

In the videos, celebrity chef Nusret Gökçe – aka ‘Salt Bae’ – can be seen greeting Cree with a bib baring a picture of the Insta star himself before the family start their meals.

Luckily for other diners, Cree looked happy and amused while sitting on dad Rio’s knee as Salt Bae presented the tot with his special bib.

Kate captioned the video: “Fabulous afternoon with the family”.

Salt Bae went viral for his famous salt sprinkling move, which sees him flick his wrist at an angle to season his dishes.

The chef’s newest restaurant in London follows previous restaurant openings in New York, Dubai and Istanbul.

Celebrities including Leonardo DiCaprio, Naomi Campbell and David Beckham are all known to be fans.

The new restaurant has been raising eyebrows since its opening last month, with one receipt from the restaurant making its way onto Twitter.

The receipt showed the eye-watering prices of the up-market restaurant where – alongside its famous £630 steak – diners can order a the ‘Nusret salad’ for £23, burrata cheese for £25 or an Asado (barbecued Argentinian meat) for two for £120.

The tweeter commented: “44 great British pounds for 4 Redbulls… having a laugh.”

One commenter agreed saying: “It's way cheaper to fly to Turkey and go to the original restaurant.”

Despite the price tag, it hasn’t put fans off, with the Knightsbridge restaurant rumoured to already be booked up into November.

Meanwhile 30-year-old former reality star Kate and footballer Rio met in 2017 and announced their engagement the following year.

Cree is the couple’s first baby together, but Kate is step-mum to Rio’s three other children with his late wife Rebecca – 13-year-old Lorenz, 11-yea-old Tate, and eight-year-old Tia.
