Kate Hudson, 43, has made a name for herself in Hollywood away from her A-list mother Goldie Hawn and has even earned herself a Golden Globe Award and Academy Award nominations. In a recent interview, Kate was asked what it was like to work with James Bond star Daniel Craig, with the actress touching on the “intimidating” actor.

I didn’t know what to expect!

Kate takes on the role of Birdie Jay in the Netflix film who loves to party but is always saying the wrong thing, as Daniel reprises his role as detective Benoit Blanc.

The Hollywood actress was asked what it was like to work with the James Bond star on set and how he was as a person.

She replied to BT: “The same with Daniel. Daniel, I didn’t know what to expect. I’d never worked with him before.

“Daniel’s goofy and he’s fun and he’s self-deprecating. When you might think he’s intimidating, it goes away really quickly with Daniel.

“We were just like this big, little theatre troupe. There’s also this other part where it’s this work hard, play hard mentality. I like people like that.”

This comes after Kate joked on This Morning that she stuck to a diet of cucumbers ahead of filming her bikini scenes while the rest of the cast indulged in alcoholic drinks.

She said: ‘When everybody was having Aperol spritz, I was waiting for that scene to be shot.

“So, I was like ‘I’ll just have that cucumber’.”

The scene in question sees her stroll confidently along the pool to meet her friends at the sun loungers where she wears a frilly off-the-shoulder orange two-piece bikini.

The actress was asked by BT about her outstanding costumes in the film and whether there were any wardrobe malfunctions, admitting the “hats” were the problem.

Kate replied: “The hats! Greece gets windy so those hats were like a character on their own.

“At one point, we had 500 bobby pins in my head with the hat, especially with the orange one.

“We couldn’t keep that thing on. But wardrobe malfunctions, not really, other than hats flying all over the place! I think Birdie’s first outfit is a malfunction. I’ll leave it there!”

Kate left the element of surprise for when the film is out for viewers to see the “malfunction” first outfit Kate wears.

In the highly-anticipated Netflix film, Kate touched on her character’s “cancelled” attitude, as she expressed: “To be so off the wall is really any comedic actor’s dream.

“The important thing for Birdie is her lack of intelligence because I really do think it comes from absolute ignorance.

“One of the important touchstones for me was that, in my mind, Birdie just is hearing every third word.

“Whether she’s severely ADHD or whatever’s going on internally with her brain, she’s not present. You mix that with narcissism and there’s Birdie”, she concluded to USA Today.
