The Princess of Wales revealed a never-before-seen photo of the late Queen Elizabeth as she the Royals mark their first Christmas without the monarch.
Kate Middleton shared the historic photo to three members of the public in a clip aired in Saturday night's ITV programme Royal Carols: Together at Christmas.
Kate sat with midwife Carys Hammond, 39, volunteer Akbar Khan, 50, and Ex-Veteran Lionel Digby, 87, who she said had gone "above and beyond" to help their local communities this past year.
They were all sharing photos of the festive period that had a special meaning to them, which is when Kate showed the group the previously unseen photo of the Queen taking part in a Christmas performance.
Kate said: "It really resonated with me seeing her majesty here doing the production on Christmas Day during the second World War, which I thought was really special.
"I can remember doing this sort of thing as a little girl too.
"When I saw this photograph, it's wonderful now, I see my children's love for doing this sort of thing, putting on little shows for us."
Carys said: "She looks really happy doesn't she?"
Talking about her children's performances, Kate revealed that she often gets invited to join in, leading to them all dancing around the table together.
The three other guests also shared heartfelt pictures that reflected on the past year.
The broadcast also saw Inna Hryhorovych, headmistress of St Mary’s Ukrainian School in London, receiving a letter from Kate thanking her for the work and care she brings her students and how she helps the families and children attending the school amid the conflict in their home nation.
Later on in the show, Kate was joined by her husband Prince William and their two oldest children Prince George and Princess Charlotte for the Together at Christmas carol concert.
Also in attendance were King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie with their husbands as well as Zara and Mike Tindall.
Introducing the programme, Kate dedicated the service to the Queen and to “all those who are sadly no longer with us".
There were several touching tributes to the Queen throughout the programme, including a clip featuring the late monarch, Prince William reading a part of his late grandmother's Christmas message from last year, and a pianist playing as a slide show of the Queen was shown.
The carol service also included performances from the Westminster Abbey choir, West End star Samantha Barks, and a duet from Alfie Boe and Melanie C.
Royal Carols: Together At Christmas was filmed on December 15 in front of an audience of more than 1,800 people at Westminster Abbey and was narrated by Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones.
