Kelsey Parker has confirmed she has split up from her boyfriend – saying: “Hopefully one day I will find love again.”
The mum of two, 33, was left heartbroken after her husband, The Wanted star Tom Parker, tragically passed away from brain cancer aged just 33 in March last year. It is thought she found love again when she started dating electrician Sean Boggans eight months after her late husband’s death.
It was then reported in April this year that Kelsey and Sean had split after five months as she struggled with the one year anniversary of Tom’s death. But in September it appeared the pair had rekindled their romance after bumping into each other at mutual pal's wedding in south London – with Kelsey saying Sean had given her a "new lease of life".
But now Kelsey, who had children Aurelia, four, and three-year-old son Bodhi with her late husband Tom, has confirmed on social media that she is no longer in a relationship. Answering a fan’s question in her Instagram stories, she said: “We’re not together anymore. It’s a shame it didn’t work out as he’s a really amazing person, but it just wasn’t right. Hopefully one day I will find love again.”
In September, Kelsey opened up on her now ex-boyfriend's prison history after it emerged Sean was jailed in 2013 for killing a man with a single punch. He had got into a fight and punched Shaun McDermott outside a pub in Romford, Essex.
Shaun later died of his injuries and Sean spent four years in jail after being found guilty of manslaughter.
Speaking to the Mirror, Kelsey said: “Everyone has a past and Sean has a lot of remorse for what happened. That’s his journey. Sean has kids now, his life has moved forward. It was the biggest mistake he’s made and he’s paid the price.”
Speaking about a potential future with the electrician, she added: “Can I see a future with Sean? Who knows what the future holds. I’m living in the now and the present, and it’s going really well.”
Also in September, Kelsey hit back at the constant "trolling" she had received over her relationship with Sean. The mum-of-two appeared on Loose Women to discuss her new book, With And Without You, in which she opened up on Tom’s brain tumour diagnosis, his death and becoming a single parent.
Addressing the judgement she had received online over her new relationship, Kelsey said: “I just think that it was really tough for me…and I just wanted to say to people, ‘It’s ok for me to be happy and please don’t judge me because I’ve really been through it and I don’t need the judgement’.
“As long as my children are happy and my family are happy for me, Tom’s family are happy for me, that’s all that matters.
“Also, just go and spend time with your family, get offline, and stop trolling people!”
Meanwhile, earlier this month, Kelsey told how preparing for her second festive period without Tom was proving tough for her – as her 'Christmas spirit had been sucked out of her'.
