Liam Payne pulls out of tour after being rushed to hospital with ‘serious kidney infection’

One Direction’s Liam Payne shared a heartfelt video to Instagram where he explained he was forced to pull out of his upcoming tour of South America due to a “serious kidney infection” which left him spending time in the hospital.

The singer directed the video to his fans where he apologised and explained he started rehearsals but was advised that it was “not the right time” to be going on tour due to his health.

Liam also explained in the caption that he had “no other choice” but to postpone the tour and that his “serious kidney infection” is not something he would “wish on anyone”.

Liam penned: “It’s with a heavy heart I have to tell you that we have no other choice but to postpone my upcoming tour of South America. Over the past week I’ve been in hospital with a serious kidney infection, it’s something I wouldn’t wish on anyone, and doctors orders are that I now need to rest and recover.”

The star continued: “I was beyond excited to come play for you guys. To all of you who have bought tickets: I’m so sorry. We’re working to re-schedule the tour as soon as we possibly can, but for now we will be refunding the tickets – so please look out for updates from your point of purchase.”

Liam, who appeared saddened at the thought of letting his fans down, concluded and wrote: “Thanks as always for the love and support, and look forward to seeing you soon.”

Fans rushed to send their love and support to the singer as one wrote: “we love you no matter what. take your time to rest and heal”, while another said: “liam please take care of yourself, we love you so so much and just wanna see you well and happy. i hope you'll feel better for your birthday! i love you”.

A third loving fan said: “My heart just broke for you nothing is more important than your health. Just rest and get well soon love, that's all that matters”.

Another supporter said: “I wish you the speediest recovery ever, Liam. So sorry you're feeling low, but I hope the best for you, it's gonna be okay. Don't feel sorry, I'm sure those who care about you also know it's better for your to stay healthy before putting yourself on that stage. We'll be waiting for you. Sending lots of love”.

The tour was scheduled to take place this September and Liam has now told fans that, hopefully, he will put on a “bigger and better show” in the future.
