Michelle Heaton has gone into rehab after she reportedly turned to alcohol following severe medical issues.
The former Liberty X singer, 41, is believed to have struggled with the side-effects of a hysterectomy in 2012 before a double mastectomy in 2015 to reduce her risk of cancer.
Michelle, who shot to fame on ITV talent show Popstars in 2001, has spoken candidly on her Instagram about her menopause during lockdown.
The mum-of-two entered the rehab facility today after “she’d increasingly turned to alcohol as a crutch”, according to an insider for The Sun.
Michelle was also affected by the loss of Nikki Grahame earlier this month and penned an emotional tribute to the former Big Brother star on Instagram.

She wrote: “Dear Nikki, I’m so sorry I didn’t come. I was scared to see you .. to say anything that may be a trigger to lose you… I was a coward and I’m so sorry [sic].
“I just listened to our voices notes, our messages, and the phone calls over the last few weeks.. I think I knew, and I was too weak to know.”
Michelle lives with husband Hugh Hanley, who she married in 2010, and the pair share two children together, Faith Michelle, nine, and Aaron Jay, seven.
The singer was diagnosed with the a mutated BRCA2 gene in 2012, which left her with an 80 per cent chance of developing breast cancer and a 30 per cent chance of developing ovarian cancer.
Michelle told OK! Online last year how the pandemic had an effect on her health, while admitting she had an “unhealthy obsession” with the news.
The singing star said: “I get really wound up with the news and everything that’s happening so it takes my concentration and energy away from me and I can’t help myself. I find myself falling asleep at night watching the news.”
A spokeswoman confirmed that Michelle entered a rehab facility today, adding: “Michelle and her family kindly ask that you give her the time she needs to get better and their family the privacy at this time, particularly her young children.
“She has the love and support of her family and friends.”
