Lorraine Kelly calls Marvel movie ‘Doctor Strange Love’
Lorraine Kelly, 61, caught up with actress Elizabeth Olsen, 31, via video call on her show today, to discuss the new Doctor Strange Marvel movie. During their chat, she accidentally referred to the film as Dr Strangelove instead, the 1964 movie, which stars Peter Sellers and George C. Scott.
Quizzing Elizabeth about the delay in filming, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, she said: “You were supposed to be doing the Doctor Strangelove movie of course, with Benedict Cumberbatch, but I guess like everything else, it’s been put on hold right now. But hopefully when things get a little bit easier, are you able to get back filming?”
The actress replied: “Yeah, I think we are hoping to start next week, it’s quite a testing system.”
She went on to explain that there had been no Covid cases on set during the two months of filming they had managed to do earlier this year, adding: “So, I really do trust that our crews are taking good care of themselves and their families, I’m trusting the system to work for itself.”
Lorraine’s blunder was swiftly pointed out by a viewer on Twitter, who wrote: “@reallorraine clearly not a @Marvel fan! ‘Dr Strangelove movie’,” alongside a laughing emoji.

She wrote: “I know! I’m an eejit – realised it too late but corrected myself – big Marvel fan xx.”
Fans of the host commented on her post, with one writing: “We know Loki [Marvel character] is your spirit animal @reallorraine.”
A second added: “I love you Lorraine XX.”
