Lorraine Kelly has warned young celebrities to learn from Asan N'jie's lesson after he was sacked from Emmerdale for threatening to kill Jamie Lomas.
The ITV daytime chat show host pointed out that any other star wanting to behave similarly can expect their job and livelihood to be taken away from them, in the wake of Asan being escorted from the Emmerdale set after crisis talks with bosses.
While Lorraine had to leave Monday's TV Choice Awards – where the fracas took place – early in order to get up on time for her show, she insisted stars need to stop getting drunk and lairy at such high-profile events.
"Every attendee needs to realise they are representing not only themselves but their programme, so they need to behave accordingly," she wrote in her Sun column.
"This fracas happened in full view of the Press pack and was filmed on smartphones. Getting drunk or lairy at such gatherings will never end well."
Lorraine went on: "Asan really let himself down and has lost the job he loves.
"I hope he has genuinely learned a lesson and will bounce back. This is a cautionary tale to others in the public eye to behave themselves."
It came after Asan was seen in Friday night's episode for the first time since the awards ceremony, having not appeared in either of Thursday's episodes.
However, his character Ellis Chapman returned to the Yorkshire village – but it did not make for a smooth ride.
Ellis jumped out of a taxi after arriving home from a personal trainer course – revealing he was now fully qualified.
This was was pretty ironic considering Asan was last snapped getting into one while being escorted out by Emmerdale staff after getting sacked on Wednesday.
With Ellis back in the village, the writers set up his upcoming romance with Belle Dingle as the pair shared a flirty conversation.
However, it was suddenly interrupted when his dad Al and brother Billy both rushed over to pull him away for a private chat.
Ellis agreed to go off with his dad, who revealed that he had slept with mum Jessie despite the fact she's married to Marlon Dingle.
Emmerdale bosses have since confirmed Asan's character will stay on screen for another six weeks .
And, in a statement earlier this week, ITV confirmed: "Emmerdale suspended Asan N'Jie yesterday pending further investigation into an incident at a central London hotel on Monday night.
"ITV executives have met with him this morning and as a consequence Asan's contract has been terminated with immediate effect."
