Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloglu reportedly did not hold back as a pal revealed her true feelings about contestants from years gone by.
The Turkish TV sensation was crowned the winner of the 2022 series alongside her beau Davide Sanclimenti on Monday, but according to a pal, her impressions of the other Islanders from 2021 weren’t the most favourable ahead of her arrival in the villa.
According to the Sun, Ekin-Su told her friend before she jetted out to Mallorca that: “Last year was awful. The people on there were just dry, pointless, s**t personalities. I just couldn't believe them.”
Even series winners such as Millie Court and Liam Reardon didn’t escape the star’s ire, as she branded them both “dry” too.
"Even the couple who won, Liam and Millie, even they were dry. I don’t know why they put people on like that,” she lamented.
The scathing comments didn’t appear to stop there either, as Ekin-Su then turned her attention towards Liberty Poole and Jake Cornish.
She reportedly connected: "That Liberty girl was so annoying. Jake and Liberty were fake, you could see straight away he was playing the game.”
Concluding her assessment of the 2021 series, Ekin-Su simply branded the entire seventh season of the ITV2 dating show as “Wrong.”
The unexpected comments emerged not long after Ekin-Su and partner Davide enjoyed their first date night together since leaving the villa.
The glamorous pair appeared to have pulled out all the stops for their romantic date in London on Friday, with the smitten couple even indulging in a passionate kiss in front of paparazzi photographers hoping to catch a glimpse of the Island winners.
As they left a restaurant together, the couple could be seen walking hand in hand as they beamed at each other, after scooping the show’s £50,000 prize.
The pair got off to a rocky start in the villa, with a series of explosive arguments very nearly ending their blossoming relationship, however after two months together, the pair appeared to be back on track, with the couple keen to start the next chapter of their life together back in the ‘real world.’
Following their date together, the pair were soon forced to separate for the first time since dating, as they headed home to reunite with their families.
Bidding an emotional farewell to Davide on social media, Ekin-Su affectionately called the star “her King” as he headed home to Manchester, while he reciprocated by dubbing her his "Queen."
The pair won the show on Monday night after receiving a whopping 63.69% of the vote.
