Former Love Island winner Amber Gill has opened up about "accidentally" coming out and admitted she judges men more harshly than women.
Amber, 25, who won the hit reality dating series in 2019, went viral last month after tweeting "switching teams was the best decision I made in my life".
The revealing comment came as she was tweeting her hilarious takes on that night's episode of the ITV2 show and followed another post in which she wrote: "Watching men makes me feel ill. I couldn't put myself through it again."
She later said addressed speculation, saying she didn't want to speak about her sexuality until she was "ready".
On Thursday night, speaking on FUBAR Radio, Amber has revealed what she meant by her switching teams tweet and opened up about her dating life since her time in Casa Amor.
The TV personality told Bobby Norris and Stephen Leng on showbiz gossip programme Access All Areas that it was an "off the cuff" comment but admitted that it was true, adding "I meant exactly what I said".
When asked if this was her coming out, Amber said: "Accidentally. I remember looking at [the tweet] and thinking 'sh*t, what have I said'.
"A lot of my friends were like 'if you were gonna do that any way, that's the typical way that you would do that'.
"Normally people have these lovely, beautiful stories or lovely, beautiful, real Instagram posts, like just lush – I've put 'switching teams' on a tweet and that's how I came out."
Amber won Love Island with Greg O’Shea after Michael Griffiths called time on the courtship, but the couple only lasted five weeks in the outside world before calling it quits.
The author, who has released her new romantic novel Until I Met You, doesn't currently have a woman in her life but she says she is open to the idea.
During the radio interview, Amber admitted that she's found dating challenging since appearing on the ITV show.
She said: "I'm very picky now. And like, very like attuned to what I like and what I don't like so I don't know if it's that's part of the reason."
Amber went on to reveal her biggest "icks" on a first date, which include people who are rude to waiters.
She continued: “I would hate if someone is on Instagram too much, like wanting to take pictures of everything.
"This is for a guy though – I don't have that many icks when it comes to girls, but for guys, I'm way harsher."
Amber's comments came after she told OK! what advice she would give her 16-year-old self during an exclusive chat.
She said: "It's OK to be a little bit different and crazy", adding: "You don't have to try and fit in everywhere. And you don't have to try and be normal. Everything will work out."
