Malin Andersson shares tribute to late daughter on what would have been her 4th birthday

Today would have been the fourth birthday of Love Island star Malin Andersson's late daughter Consy, who tragically passed away in 2019, four weeks old after being born seven weeks premature.

Taking to Instagram today, the 29-year-old ex-Islander shared a sweet tribute to her baby girl, a loss which at the time she described as leaving her feel "empty".

With a picture of her tiny girl receiving treatment in hospital prior to her heart-breaking death, Malin admitted she believes her 10-month-old daughter would have loved to meet her big sister.

The star wrote: "Happy Heavenly 4th Birthday Consy [angel and love-heart emojis]."

"So strange to think you would have been 4.. my little Xay is a feisty fiery thing I’m sure she would have picked on you even though you’re older."

Malin added: "For anyone grieving around Christmas.. it’s ok. You’ll be ok. I’ll be ok"

Consy-Gloria, named after Malin’s late mother who passed away from stomach cancer in November 2017, was born with a rare heart condition.

She told OK! at the time: "I played with her hands and feet while she was in the incubator, but I couldn’t hold her. I also got involved in nappy changes and was expressing [breast milk] so that she could have my milk.

"She was 4lb 8oz, so too small for surgery. All I could do was hope for a miracle."

Malin recalled the day after baby Consy passed away, saying she asked: "Why me?"

"We went to see her body in the morgue and she looked so peaceful but I still couldn’t hold her. I’d carried a baby for seven months and then nothing. I felt empty, I have a scar where my baby has been taken out of me but there is no baby.

"I am a mum without a baby."

In April 2021, the brunette beauty revealed she was pregnant for the second time with what would be her daughter Xaya who she exclusively introduced to OK! earlier this year.

Malin was rushed to the same hospital in which she had lost her first daughter Consy three years before for an emergency c-section to deliver Xaya, telling us: "I lay there, terrified, on the operating table being completely triggered by traumatic memories.

"The next minute, they pulled her from me and she immediately started crying. It was the biggest relief because with Consy’s birth, she didn’t make a sound.

"Holding her in my arms for the first time was magical – the most beautiful feeling ever."

She added that after Xaya's birth, she felt that her late mother and daughter Consy were her "guardian angels", claiming: "I felt them both surrounding me a lot.

"I was constantly anxious I’d miscarry again or that something would go wrong, but I’d feel my mum’s presence reassuring me. I’d dream of Consy all the time – she’d tell me, ‘Mum, don’t worry, it’s all good’."

"She can be fiery," Malin said, describing Xaya when she was first born. "She knows exactly what she wants and exactly when she wants it! But she also just loves to be hugged and touched.

"I appreciate her most when it comes to everyday things – like watching a movie or going for a walk. No longer do I have to do these things by myself because she’s always there beside me.

"I’ve felt lonely for a long time, especially since my mum died, and have lived with an overwhelming sense of pain for years. But now I’ve got love. Xaya filled a massive void."
