Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to be moving out of their luxury LA home according to a source who claims the couple are “not over the moon” with the residence.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been living in their impressive property, located in the Californian neighbourhood of Montecito, for 18 months and are now reportedly looking elsewhere to live in hopes of finding a better location.
“They are thinking of selling their house there. However, it won't be on the market because of who they are,” an insider told The Mirror.
“It's only being shown to people who are confirmed with funds and are serious buyers.
"They want to stay in the neighbourhood or nearby but they aren't over the moon about the house and the location.”
While Harry and Meghan may not be pleased with the site of their home, the surrounding community certainly has been appealing, with Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres included as neighbours to the former Royal couple.
The mansion itself – worth £11 million – remains remarkable in description, boasting 9 bedrooms and 16 bathrooms which provides more than enough space for Harry and Meghan to raise their two children, Archie, 2, and Lilibet, six months.
The Californian estate also features a gym, a wine cellar, a swimming pool and a guesthouse and is surrounded by green gardens that include a tennis court and an open putting field.
Before Harry and Meghan moved into the LA mansion in 2020, the property was owned by Russian businessman Sergey Grishin, who also owned the ‘Scarface mansion’ (sold on in 2015) which is located in a different spot in California.
The married pair previously resided at the Frogmore Cottage in Windsor – which has now been handed over to Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank, presenting a great home for their baby son August.
Reports of the couple’s potential move comes after Harry and Meghan shared the first image of their baby daughter Lilibet in a family photo shot by Alexi Lubomirski over the holidays.
The image was accompanied with an announcement from the couple that they had made donations in support of Afghan families left out of the US withdrawal and Paid Leave For All, an organisation urging for legalised paid family leave in America.
“This year we welcomed out daughter, Lilibet, to the world. Archie made us a "Mama and Papa" and Lili made us a family,” Harry and Meghan’s caption read.
“As we look forward to 2022 we have made donations on your behalf to several organisations that honor and protect families – from those being relocated from Afghanistan to American families in need of paid parental leave."
