Melissa Benoist showed some support for her husband Chris Wood last week!
The actor made his Broadway debut in the new musical Almost Famous, which had it’s opening night on Thursday (November 3) in New York City.
Chris plays Russell Hammond in the show, which fellow Arrowverse alum Colin Donnell actually originated back during the 2019 preview run in San Diego.
Based on the movie of the same name, Almost Famous takes place in 1973.
Here’s a synopsis: Led Zeppelin is king, Richard Nixon is President, and idealistic 15-year-old William Miller is an aspiring music journalist. When Rolling Stone magazine hires him to go on the road with an up-and-coming band, William is thrust into the rock-and-roll circus, where his love of music, his longing for friendship, and his integrity as a writer collide. ALMOST FAMOUS is a hilarious and heartfelt celebration of community, family, fandom and the power of music.
“opening night at @almostfamousbwy ✨ so unbelievably proud of you, @christophrwood ❤️,” Melissa captioned a cute photo on Instagram of the couple on the red carpet at the opening.
If you recall, Melissa made her Broadway debut in Beautiful: The Carol King Musical back in 2018. That same year, the couple attended the Tony Awards together.
In November 2021, Melissa and Chris starred together in the series finale of Supergirl.
If you missed it, in addition to releasing her second book with her sister, Melissa will be starring in and producing a new TV series!
