Michael B. Jordan under investigation by the LAPD after shocking footage emerged of him seemingly losing control of his $400K Ferrari and crashing into a parked Kia SUV
- Video purportedly showing him driving and then crashing emerged Thursday
- Now the LAPD is trying to determine if he was behind the wheel in response
- If police decide he has criminal culpability, they’ll pass the case to prosecutors
Michael B. Jordan is reportedly being investigation by the Los Angles Police Department in response to a shocking car crash earlier this month that was caught on video.
The 36-year-old actor was previously reported to have crash his $429,000 Ferrari into the side of a parked Kia SUV, but the investigation appears to have ramped up after video emerged on Thursday.
Now law enforcement sources have told TMZ that they are investigating the circumstances of the crash in order to determine if Jordan was the one behind the wheel.
DailyMail.com has reached out to representatives for Jordan requesting comment.
According to the sources, if they are able to confirm that Jordan was the driver, they will then contact him for an interview.

According to the sources, the investigation began after video emerged on Thursday that purportedly shows Jordan driving and then crashing into the parked car (pictured)
That will give the Black Panther star a chance to share his side of what led up to the crash.
Part of the reason that is necessary is that Jordan appears to have provided few details when speaking to police at the scene of the crash.
The sources added that if the investigation officers determine Jordan is criminally culpable, then the case would be passed on to prosecutors to determine whether he should be charged with a crime.
The video in questions shows what is believed to be Jordan’s Ferrari, a blue 812 Superfast, racing down Sunset Boulevard against a red Ferrari in the left lane.
The car that is believed to be Jordan’s appears to briefly swerve unsteadily, at which point the driver hits the breaks, but the car then serves even more dramatically to the right, hitting the parked Kia SUV.
The collision reportedly damaged both Jordan’s car and the parked car, with the Ferrari losing its front passenger-side tire, according to KTLA, which first obtained the video.
After the crash, a reporter for LA-OC.tv said that when he tried to film the car and its occupants speaking to police, a security guard for the actor ‘tried to run me off.’
Law enforcement sources added that police at the scene found no indication that the actor was impaired by drugs or alcohol, though that doesn’t mean he couldn’t still be charged with a crime.
They also reportedly did not perform a field sobriety test at the time.
Jordan reportedly offered few details about the crash to police who initially arrived at the scene, so if they determine he was the driver then police will attempt to interview him again; seen December 11 in West Hollywood

Law enforcement officers have not released the names of anyone at the scene, as no one was initially charged in connection with the case.
An insider in Jordan’s camp told DailyMail.com that he was ’embarrassed’ over the shocking crash.
‘It was an actual accident,’ they said. ‘Michael was annoyed that he ruined his car, but that can get fixed. He was, and is, embarrassed about it all as he accidentally had his foot on the gas and didn’t brake in time.
‘One thing lead to another and the parked car was where it was, and all the puzzle pieces just landed in an unfortunate way. He is happy nobody was hurt,’ they added.
