Mike Tindall has responded to the rumours former health secretary Matt Hancock left the I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! WhatsApp group chat.
When the latest series of I'm A Celeb finished at the end of last year, there was a lot of discussions about whether or not the celebs would keep in touch, and if they'd also keep in touch with former MP Matt after all the drama that happened, including Matt being questioned about why he chose to appear on the show.
When leaving the show, the newly crowned Queen of the Jungle, Jill Scott, said on Loose Women that she had yet to hear from Matt as neither of them had texted the other one month after coming back home.
The rumours that Matt had been kicked out of their exclusive group chat was then brought up, but neither Jill or Charlene White commented on this.
Mike has now confirmed that Matt wasn't in the group chat to begin with, as he said no one had left the chat.
Speaking to The Sun, Mike said: "Of course I’d chat to Matt again – why wouldn’t I? I think there’s been a miscommunication with that, no one has left the WhatsApp group.
"I’m actually seeing Sue [Cleaver] tomorrow, and I’ve seen Sue a few times and spoken to Baba [Aleshe] and pretty much spoken to everyone.
"Well, we try to but it’s not easy. You always have these grand plans when you’re in the jungle but you come back and remember what life was before."
Since leaving the jungle, Mike has revealed how the Prince of Wales reacted when he told him he was going on the show.
Speaking on his The Good, The Bad, and The Rugby podcast, he said: “You don't want to upset anyone. I spoke to the Prince of Wales about it and he said, 'Great, go have fun'."
Mike went on to say that he wasn’t told that he couldn’t share any royal stories while in camp, but knew he should be mindful. With this in mind, he sometimes “cut conversations short” when he was quizzed about his life as a royal, knowing that short chats were unlikely to make it to air.
As well as getting William’s blessing, Mike asked his wife’s cousin who he’d be rooting for – him, or Lioness star Jill Scott.
Sharing his reply, Mike recalled: “[William said] that’s a tricky one.”
Jill went on to be crowned Queen of the Jungle, however, with Mike coming in fourth place behind the footballing legend, Hollyoaks’ Owen Warner and former health secretary Matt Hancock.
