Millie Bobby Brown, 18, has opened up about the contrast between working with her Enola Holmes 2 co-star Henry Cavill, 39, and her fellow Stranger Things actors. The actress described how the pair had an “adult relationship” due to the Superman star’s “strict boundaries”, which was worlds away from working with actors like Noah Schnapp, 18, whom she had known since childhood.
In a recent interview, Millie was asked how her “camaraderie” differs from that of her Stranger Things co-stars like her on-screen adoptive brothers Noah and Charlie Heaton, 28.
“It’s different because I grew up with Noah and Charlie – I met them when I was 10,” she explained. “So, for me, it does feel like your schoolmates and, with Henry, it feels like a real adult relationship.”
Millie and Henry have starred in both Enola Holmes movies together, first meeting in July, 2019 when the filming for the first instalment of the franchise commenced.
“[We have] like a really good friendship, a really healthy one. One that we have terms and conditions,” Millie continued.
The star then went on to explain how their friendship felt “healthy” due to the strict boundaries Henry set out when it came to discussing their personal lives with one another.
“I know Henry. He has terms and conditions with me,” Millie said. “I’m not allowed to ask about his personal life. It’s like, ‘Millie, shut up. No.’ And I’m like, ‘Understood.’”
Millie shared how different their dynamic was from her young Stranger Things co-stars, as they had all grown up together filming the show.
“Whereas with the Stranger Things kids, it’s different. There’s no boundaries because it’s like we’re all siblings,” she explained during her interview with Deadline. “But with Henry, he’s very strict with me, which I appreciate.”
Millie plays the titular character in Enola Holmes and its sequel Enola Holmes 2, which was released on Netflix today.
Meanwhile, Henry has returned to star as her famous detective brother, Sherlock Holmes.
The two actors recently attended the red carpet premiere for the film, which follows the next phase of Enola Holmes’ budding detective career.
Hunger Games and Peaky Blinders star Sam Claflin also joined the pair in the first film, portraying their elder brother Mycroft Holmes.

Enola Holmes 2, which is available to watch on Netflix, is based on the Nancy Springer book series The Enola Holmes Mysteries.
The film’s synopsis, which makes reference to the 2020 original, reads: “Fresh off the triumph of solving her first case, Enola Holmes follows in the footsteps of her famous brother, Sherlock and opens her own agency — only to find that life as a female detective-for-hire isn’t as easy as it seems.
“Resigned to accepting the cold realities of adulthood, she is about to close shop when a penniless matchstick girl offers Enola her first official job: to find her missing sister.
“But this case proves to be far more puzzling than expected, as Enola is thrown into a dangerous new world — from London’s sinister factories and colourful music halls, to the highest echelons of society and 221B Baker Street itself.”
“As the sparks of a deadly conspiracy ignite, Enola must call upon the help of friends — and Sherlock himself — to unravel her mystery. The game, it seems, has found its feet again!”
Despite her recent success in the world of cinema, Millie is still best known for playing Eleven – a mysterious little girl with super powers – in Netflix’s Stranger Things.
Season four of Stranger Things left fans reeling earlier this year with its epic finale, leaving things on a cliffhanger before the show’s final season.
The fifth season, which does not yet have a release date, will be the last chapter of the story for the Hawkins crew, the cast of which also includes Winona Ryder and David Harbour.
