The Monkey King is coming to Netflix and the trailer just debuted!

Directed by Anthony Stacchi, with animation and imagery by ReelFX, the upcoming action family comedy film features an all-star voice cast packed with top Asian talent.

Here’s a synopsis: The Monkey King is an action-packed family comedy that follows a rebellious and charismatic Monkey and his magical fighting Stick on an epic quest for victory over 100 demons, an eccentric Dragon King, and Monkey’s greatest foe of all —his own ego! Along the way, a young village girl challenges his self-centered attitude and shows him that even the smallest pebble can have a big effect on the world.

The cast includes Jimmy O. Yang (Monkey King), Jolie Hoang-Rappaport (Lin), Nan Li (Stick), Bowen Yang (Dragon King), Jo Koy (Benbo), Ron Yuan (Babbo), Hoon Lee (Jade Emperor), BD Wong (Buddha), Sophie Wu (Red Girl), Andrew Kishino (Demon of Havoc & King Yama), Jodi Long (Wangmu), James Sie (Elder Monkey), Andrew Pang (Mayor), Stephanie Hsu (Mayor’s Wife) and Kuno Inghram (Mayor’s Son).

The Monkey King will premiere on August 18th on Netflix.
