As Kate Middleton urged business leaders to prioritise wellbeing in the workplace to support family life following the launch of her business taskforce on early childhood, one body language expert believes she is "not afraid to push boundaries" in her new role.
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, Darren Stanton shared his opinion on Kate, as she stepped out to deliver a speech for the business-based campaign in London yesterday.
As well as noting her "playful" energy, Darren also revealed the telling signals that prove the future Queen was "comfortable in her environment," adding that Kate "can hold her own both personally and professionally" without the assistance of her husband.
"Straight off the bat we see a very confident Kate," Darren said of Kate's latest engagement. "Dressed powerfully in a tailored white jacket, as she arrived at her business engagement. Kate is definitely mindful of the colours she wears and chooses them to match the tone of the event she is attending."
The 41 year oldroyalwore a cream coloured blouse and matching blazer to the inaugural meeting withglobal firms , in the hope that the businesses will assist in the effort to train and help staff to maintain their social and emotional welfare.
Darren said of her outfit choice: "She usually wears white whenever she is attending a solemn service, say a charity event or hospital event, and this event was no exception.
"Cautious and conscious of being at the centre of the spotlight, Kate strategically wears muted colours when she wants to blend in with her peers and be seen as their equal."
Kate met with top global brands Unilever, Ikea, Deloitte, Lego, Aviva, Co-op and Iceland, on Tuesday, following on from the launch of herShaping Us campaign , which she described as her "life’s work" and aimed at raising the profile of youngsters’ early years development
"We also see Kate’s confidence shine through immediately within her stances," Darren continued. "As she holds a solid position with her feet positioned wide apart – a stance usually adopted by celebrities on the red carpet."
He noted: "It shows she is clearly feeling comfortable and happy in her environment."
Speaking to a group of chief executive officers in the boardroom at NatWest bank’s headquarters in the City of London, the princess told them she believed there were two things needed “to really transform society for generations to come”.
"When Kate heads inside and joins the meeting, we see her clearly make a joke at one point," Darren explained. "You’ll notice that Kate is matching and mirroring some of the other attendees in that she and another lady, Amanda Blanc, were both pictured with their head tilted to one side.
"Given Amanda’s facial expression, it’s clear she’s taken the lead from Kate. When someone initiates a head tilt in this context, it’s generally revealing they have been a little mischievous or naughty, suggesting Kate wasn’t afraid to be playful when in the company of others and generate laughter among those she is meeting with. She is not afraid to push the boundaries."
It is hoped the taskforce that Kate met with will produce a set of broad principles that could be adopted by businesses wanting to help promote wellbeing in the workplace.
She also told the executives gathered around the boardroom table: "I know many of you are already doing incredible work in this area, not only through supporting parents in the workplace but also prioritising diversity and inclusion, as well as the general wellbeing of your staff, customers and communities.
"It is, and will remain, important to find new ways of adapting to your workforces, especially given that many are parents, carers and extended family members, and we know that the wellbeing of the adults in a child’s life is the single most important factor in the healthy development of children."
Darren commented on her demeanor during the important meeting: "Down to business, we see a very professional version of Kate as she stood at the podium delivering her address.
"She holds a strong posture here, with her shoulders back and looks every inch the businesswoman. It shows how Kate is definitely not a one hit wonder in respect of her skills and acumen to talk to people from all walks of line, including CEOs of major multinational companies.
"Her title aside, Kate comes across in these images as a woman who is confident, keen to impress and passionate about what she is talking about."
He concluded: "Her solo appearance today also demonstrates yet again that she doesn’t need to be joined at the hip with William and can very much hold her own both personally and professionally."
