Prince Louis makes Sandringham debut as William and George twin in matching suits

The Royal Family delighted crowds as they attended their annual Christmas Day service at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, with Prince Louis making a typically adorable debut at the annual get-together.

This Christmas is the family's first without Queen Elizabeth, who passed away aged 96 in September.

Despite it being an undeniably difficult day for the likes of King Charles and Prince William, they were all smiles as they arrived at Church.

The Royals will later head to the Sandringham estate, where the family’s festivities will continue.

Located in Norfolk, England, just over 100 miles north of London, the 20,000 acres of land was passed on to Queen Elizabeth II after George VI passed away in the house in 1952.

As they arrived at Church, King Charles smiled warmly at everyone and waved. Wearing a long, brown tailored coat, the 74 year old was dressed for Britain’s cooler climes.

Alongside the monarch was Queen Consort Camilla, 75, in an all-blue ensemble. Camilla donned a navy blue hat with feathered detailing, a blue coat with a matching dress underneath. To completely the look, she paired it with knee-high black boots and leather gloves.

Behind Camilla and Charles were the Prince and Princess of Wales with their children – Louis included.

Kate Middleton, 40, cut a stylish figure in a khaki green coat, hat, and heeled boots, as Prince William, 40, wore a tailored blue coat, light blue tie, and slacks.

Matching his dad was nine year old Prince George, who also wore a tailor jacket paired with a white shirt and blue tie.

Meanwhile, Princess Charlotte, seven, appeared to recycle her beautiful burgundy jacket from her mother's festive carol service.

Today's service, 25 December, was four year old Louis' first time attending mass with the rest of the royals. For the occasion, the youngest donned a double-breasted coat like that of his big sister Charlotte's, paired with shorts, knee-high socks and black shoes.

Also in the walking group, who passed a crowd of well-wishers on the way to the church, was the disgraced Duke of York.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex were also in the group.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who live in California, were absent.

Members of the royal family were greeted outside the church by the Reverend Canon Dr Paul Rhys Williams before they climbed the steps to the church and the National Anthem was sung before the first hymn, O Come, All Ye Faithful.

This year’s gathering at Sandringham is the first time the royal family have spent Christmas at the private royal residence in Norfolk since 2019.

The late Queen had spent the festive period at Windsor Castle for two years in a row, in 2020 and 2021, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, before her death in September this year.

Ahead of The Firm’s arrival, some royal fans lined the streets nearby in the hopes of getting a glimpse of them.

At the front of the queue was John Loughrey, of Streatham, south London, who said he arrived at 7pm on Christmas Eve and camped out overnight with his friend Sky London, 62.

Retired assistant chef Mr Loughrey said they took a train from London to King’s Lynn in Norfolk, then a bus to Sandringham where they are staying at a local hotel, around 15 minutes’ walk from St Mary Magdalene church.

The 67 year old, who wore a Union Jack hat, gloves and hoody, said he slept in a tinfoil blanket to ensure a place at the front of the queue.

“We were both shivering,” he said. “I couldn’t sleep properly.”

He has brought a bouquet of roses that he hopes to give to the royals.

Mr Loughrey said: “We wanted to come here to show our appreciation to King Charles III and his Queen Consort and of course the Prince of Wales.

“Because of losing the Queen, it’s a sad time for the family and I’m sure they will mention the Queen in the church today.

“It will be in King Charles’s thoughts about his mother, about her legacy, they will be thinking about it over Christmas.

“It’s going to be a sad time and a happy time for them. That’s how it’s got to be.”
