Princess Beatrice reacts as Mike Tindall is voted off I’m A Celeb and reunited with Zara

Princess Beatrice reacted to Mike Tindall narrowly missing out on a spot in the I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! final after he became the latest celeb to be voted out by the public.

Beatrice, 34, who was recently spotted borrowing one of Kate Middleton's gowns, took to her Twitter account, which has nearly 150,000 followers, to post: “He is just the greatest @miketindall13.”

Mike, 44, became the eighth star to be eliminated from I’m A Celeb, leaving former Lioness Jill Scott, West Suffolk MP Matt Hancock and Hollyoaks actor Owen Warner to battle it out for the King or Queen of the jungle title in tonight’s final.

Mike was met on the famous bridge by royal wife Zara, 41, who had been waiting at a nearby hotel for her husband to leave the show.

The former rugby star, who was left in tears after reuniting with his wife, shared that he wasn’t too disappointed at missing out on the final.

He told hosts Ant and Dec: “I’m pretty comfortable with it. It’s been an amazing journey, I think we’ve been very lucky with everyone that’s been in there and how the camp has worked together.

"Being in a team for a long period of my life, I didn’t expect it to work as well as it did.”

Mike added that “you can get through anything when the humour’s good,” and explained that “in all fairness to everyone, everyone had distinct humour.”

Former Rugby World Cup winner Mike was the first royal to head into the jungle and shared some stories about what it’s like being married to a member of the royal family.

Mike shared an embarrassing story with his fellow campmates about ripping his trousers open whilst dancing with his mother-in-law, Princess Anne, and revealed that he wasn’t nervous about mingling with royalty when he met his now-wife Zara.

In fact, Mike pointed out that at the time Princess Anne was a patron of Rugby and that Princes William and Harry were devotees to the sport – so he was no stranger to royalty.

Mike and Zara met during the 2003 Sydney Rugby World Cup, after being introduced by a mutual friend in a bar.

The two hit it off straight away and eventually wed in Scotland in 2011 –  to the dismay of Mike’s late grandmother, who feared he would be shunned for marrying royalty as a commoner – and are now proud parents to three children.

The pair have two daughters – eight year old Mia and four year old Lena – and welcomed their youngest, a son named Lucas, in 2021.
