Janet Jackson has taken a rare step out into the limelight as she attended a star-studded fashion show.
The music icon, who is scarcely spotted at celebrity events, turned up to the Christian Siriano Spring/Summer 2024 fashion show, which took place in New York City on Friday.
The 57-year-old performer stunned in an entire leather look outfit, made up of a light brown trench coat and skin tight dress.
She was pictured sitting front row at the A-list event, alongside Laura Linney, Alicia Silverstone, Rosie Perez and Avril Lavigne.
The Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter was also posted for pictures with fellow singer Sia and actress Laverne Cox.
Her eye catching look was made up of a floor length trench coat, turtleneck bodycon midi dress and matching knee high boots.
Janet paired complimented the outfit with a pair of simple metallic hoop earrings and a long slicked back plait.
The singer and American fashion designer Christian Siriano have been friends for a long time and it has been reported that he previously rescheduled one of his shows so that Janet would be able to attend.
A source previously spoke to Page Six in 2022, saying that the 37-year-old would have his New York Fashion Week show "early" to accommodate her schedule.
The source added: 'He was like, "If Janet's coming, I don't care if there are 10 people there, we will make it work."'
Speaking to press after the runway show, Christian said: "Even if you don’t have everybody on your side — I mean, I feel great when Janet Jackson calls and wants five looks."
He told Fashionista backstage at the event: "I stopped making clothes that everybody thought they wanted me to do. I just started making things that I love to do, and I’m glad that a lot of people that want to wear them caught on."
Janet is currently performing on her Together Again tour of the US, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of her iconic album The Velvet Rope.
The performer's run of shows kicked off with a pair of performances at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida, in April and will end next month when she headlines the ONE Musicfest 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Her current tour is said to have been a record breaking one, as it became the highest grossing of any of her previous tours, including her 2001-2002 All for You Tour, which brought in $46.9 million (£36.81 million).
By June this year, her Together Again tour racked up an estimated $50.9million (£39.9 million) after selling 479,000 tickets during the span of 37 shows across the United States.
