Rihanna Pens Touching Tribute to Late Cousin Four Years After His Death

Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne, who was only 21 at the time, was murdered in Barbados by an unidentified man when he was walking by his home and he died in the hospital from his injuries.

AceShowbizRihanna remembers her late cousin Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne, who was murdered in Barbados four years ago. On the holiday weekend, the “Umbrella” hitmaker shared a series of photos on Instagram to honor him on 4-year anniversary of his death.

In the post, Rih included pictures of her and her cousin together over the years, as well as some of just him. She also posted some pictures of Tavon alone. “Miss you and dat smile cuz. #Tavon,” so the singer and business mogul captioned the post.

Tavon, who was only 21 at the time, was murdered in Barbados by an unidentified man when he was walking by his home. He died in the hospital as he succumbed to his injuries. According to Barbados Today, 23-year-old Shawayne DaShawn Williams of St. Michael, Barbados, was later charged during his first court appearance. The outlet did not specify what Williams’ motive might have been.

Following the devastating murder, Rihanna quickly took to her social media account to pay tribute to her cousin. “RIP cousin… can’t believe it was just last night that I held you in my arms! never thought that would be the last time I felt the warmth in your body!!! Love you always man!” She also called for an end to gun violence.

“Sleep well buddy..we are at peace knowing you’re in a better place than we are. We will always have a void without you, but we will never stop loving you,” she wrote at the time. “Hope you were happy with your going away celebration today.”
