Sandra Bullock's sister Gesine Bullock-Prado has praised the actress for the "amazing" care she gave to her partner Bryan Randall during his three-year battle with the motor neuron disease ALS.
The model-turned-photographer tragically passed away from the condition over the weekend, aged just 57.
Pastry chef Gesine, 53, has taken to Instagram to mourn her sister's partner and praised Sandra, 59, for the care she gave her later partner.
Sharing a photo of Bryan, Gesine penned the caption: "I’m convinced that Bry has found the best fishing spot in heaven and is already casting his lure into rushing rivers teaming with salmon.
"ALS is a cruel disease but there is some comfort in knowing he had the best of caretakers in my amazing sister and the band of nurses she assembled who helped her look after him in their home."
She continued: "Rest in peace, Bryan. In lieu of flowers, please donate to ALS Association and Massachusetts General Hospital."
Gesine's followers were quick to comment with messages of condolences, with one writing: "So incredibly sorry for this huge loss, you all are in my thoughts during this time. Sending enormous love to sandy b and to the whole family."
"This is extremely sad, he was very young. My condolences to Sandra and everyone who knew him [heart emoji]" added another.
And a third said: "I'm so sorry for your loss. We Sandy fans are sending a hug of comfort to your hearts. You are all in our prayers. Rest In Peace Bryan!"
Sandra and Bryan had been in a relationship since 2015 and had been a doting father to her two adoptive children, Louis and Laila.
The pair first met when he photographed her son Louis's birthday in January 2015 and later that year made their relationship public, including an appearance together at Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux's wedding in August.
During an episode of the chatshow, Red Table Talk, Sandra opened up about her relationship, as she said: "I found the love of my life.
"We share two beautiful children – three children, (Randall's) older daughter. It's the best thing ever."
And discussing why the couple never tied the knot, she continued: "I don't wanna say do it like I do it, but I don't need a paper to be a devoted partner and devoted mother."
She finished: "I don't need to be told to be ever present in the hardest of times. I don't need to be told to weather a storm with a good man."
