Days after Taylor Swift posted about her ongoing battle with Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta over her masters, Scooter took to Instagram to post about…kindness…of all things.
In case you’re not all caught up, Taylor, Scooter, and Scott’s feud is as chaotic and messed up as ever. It all started back in July when she accused Scooter of bullying and manipulating her by buying her masters and having his celebrity clients attack her online after that Kanye West phone call came out.
Fast forward a couple of months, and Taylor just posted a note about how Scooter, who bought Big Machine Records, and Scott won’t let her perform her own songs while accepting the Artist of the Decade honor at the American Music Awards. She wrote:
Celebrities like Cher have come to Taylor’s defense while Justin Bieber has shown support for Scooter by posting certain headlines on his Instagram Stories.
And amid all of this, Taylor’s PR rep claimed Big Machine actually owes Taylor $7.9 million in unpaid royalties, and TMZ reported that some of Taylor’s fans are sending death threats to Scooter. (It should go without saying that no matter whose side you’re on, that is never okay.)
On Friday, a Big Machine exec stated that Taylor would actually be allowed to perform her songs at the November 24 award show. And early this morning, Scooter took to Instagram to state, “Kindness is the only response.” Well, this is interesting considering Big Machine had sent out a salty statement on November 15 basically calling Taylor a liar, but I digress!
TBD on if this feud is truly over.
