Sex-starved Love Islanders are allowed to masturbate but not in front of others

Love Island 's Iain Stirling has confirmed the sex-starved stars are allowed to masturbate in the villa as long as they don't do it in front of others.

The rules regarding personal issues such as this have long been shrouded in secrecy, but the voice over man has now lifted the lid on the contestants' behaviour guidelines.

In an interview with Vice magazine, he was asked if the stars are allowed to masterbate, and he replied: "I have to assume so."

Iain added: "I imagine they're asked to follow the normal masturbation rules: not in front of people? Not in communal places?"

Last year, the subject of masturbation in the villa was brought up due to rumours about the exit of 2019 contestant Sherif Lanre.

He was booted out after just a week on-air, and there was gossip suggesting he'd broken the masturbation rules and been spending a lot of time in the shower.

Sherif later confessed he'd been axed because of he'd accidentally kicked fellow star Molly-Mae Hague in the crotch and joked about it being a "c*** punt".

In the interview, Iain goes on to talk about his job – admitting he tries to avoid behing-the-scenes villa gossip as he feel he should only see what the viewers watch.

He also goes into detail about the huge team it takes to make the show work, with specialised groups of producers working on different areas from inside the villa to dates and challenges.

The Scottish comedian explained: "Well, the team working on it is in the hundreds: you've got a camera team filming all the dates and the glamour and slo-mo shots.

"Then you have the challenge team, who come up with, build and curate the tasks. There's the inside villa film crew, and another which looks after the villa, and the edit team – each has both day and night.

"The gallery has directors and runners, and there's the sound team, plus execs, transport, catering, cabling, me. It's huge."
