Zara and Graziano quickstep to Anyone For You
Despite working in government in her early 20s, Strictly Come Dancing star Zara McDermott has made it clear she’s not romantically interested in the ministers, after declaring that “no-one in Westminster is fit”.
The 26-year-old former Love Island star cheekily told the world that the prospect of seeing a scantily clad Boris Johnson on the show definitely did not appeal.
“I always liked him as a minister, although I wouldn’t want to see him in tiny shorts!” she teased in an unearthed interview with The Sun.
“I don’t think he’s fit. No one in Westminster is fit. They are all a bit too old for me!”
Discussing the prospect of a political version of Love Island being screened on TV, she suggested that Ed Miliband might be a good candidate due to his “funny one-liners” which she predicted would have the nation hooked.

Zara had been defending her decision to appear on the show, explaining that she didn’t feel reality TV had made her any less “intelligent or capable” at doing her job.
At the time, in 2018, she had been keen to return to her original profession after her Love Island appearance, until a career as an influencer and documentary-maker took off instead.
Two years earlier, she had written a key speech for David Cameron on renewable energy strategies and the threat of climate change.
However, she didn’t socialise with the former PM and added that although she’d once shared a room with both him and Theresa May, they hadn’t become pals – or even so much as spoken.

She’d been concerned about getting romantic with her Love Island crush Adam Collard on the show, fearing that someone from her workplace would see it.
For that reason, Zara revealed that though it had been difficult to stave off temptation, she’d resolved not to have sex on-screen.
Though she never returned to politics or any kind of office job, she has still been keen to let the world know she doesn’t want to be defined or pigeon-holed by her reality TV past.
Zara is the first Love Island contestant ever to appear on BBC’s Strictly – and she’s made waves ever since her debut last month.
The stunner paired up with Sicilian pro dancer Graziano di Prima, who is 29, for a spirited rendition of Jennifer Paige’s Crush in week one.
The following week, she doubled the points she received from notoriously strict judge Craig Revel-Horwood, going from a mere three out of ten to six after wowing with her quickstep to ‘Anyone For You (Tiger Lily)’ by George Ezra.
She and Graziano avoided the dance-off, which resulted in Nikita Kanda and Gorka Marquez being saved, and Les Dennis and Nancy Xu becoming the first duo to get the chop.
Zara has since showed off a painful looking injury, bandaging her toes following gruelling rehearsals, but she remains hopeful that she can dance her way to the Glitterball Trophy this year.
