The Barney Ross depicter in ‘The Expendables’ denies reports that his estranged wife filed to end their 25-year marriage due to a heated argument over his pooch, Dwight.

AceShowbizSylvester Stallone is clearing up the air. The “Rocky Balboa” star has weighed in on reports that his now-estranged wife Jennifer Flavin filed for divorce after they had a fiery fight over a dog.

Speaking to TMZ on Wednesday, August 24, the 76-year-old Hollywood star insisted that the heated argument over his Rottweiler named Dwight was not the reason his model wife filed to end their 25-year marriage. He stressed that they have just taken “different directions,” adding that he still has love for her.

Debunking the reports, Sylvester told the news outlet, “We did not end the relationship on such a trivial argument.” The leading man of “The Expendables” further noted, “We just went in different directions,” stressing, “I have the highest respect for Jennifer. I will always love her. She’s an amazing woman. She’s the nicest human being I’ve ever met.”

Previously, it was reported that the former couple had a heated debate over their new canine. The actor reportedly wanted the pooch for “protection for their family.” However, the 54-year-old model wasn’t on board with adding another dog to the family. Instead of compromising, they “fiercely stuck to their positions.”

The massive argument allegedly led to “an extremely heated argument that brought up other issues” in their marriage, although it didn’t appear to be “marriage-enders” at the time. Unfortunately for both Jennifer and their marriage, Sylvester won the argument and used the dog to promote his new show, “Tulsa King“, by naming him after the name of his character.

Jennifer filed to seek “dissolution” to their 25-year marriage in Palm Beach County, Florida on August 19. She claimed their union is “irretrievably broken.” She also accused Sly of hiding marital assets, claiming that he “has engaged in the intentional dissipation, depletion and/or waste of marital assets which has had an adverse economic impact on the marital estate.”

“Pursuant to Section 61.075, Florida Statues, equity dictates that the Wife be compensated and made whole by receiving an unequal distribution of the marital assets in her favor,” the motion stated. “Moreover, the Husband should be enjoined from, selling, transferring, assigning, encumbering, or dissipating any assets during the pendency of proceedings.”

A few days before filing for divorce, Jen posted a cryptic message on Instagram, hinting that “nothing else matters” except her three daughters, whom she shares with Sly. Along with a photo of herself with Sistine, Sophia and Scarlet, she wrote, “These girls are my priority. Nothing else matters. The 4 of us forever.”

In the comment section, her daughters sent her some love, clearly knowing their parents’ marriage was over before the news hit the press. “You are our rock, cheerleader, and most incredible mom. We are so lucky to have you. Love you so much,” Sophia commented, with Sistine dubbing her mom “strongest woman I know.” Scarlet, the youngest one, dropped a simple love heart.

Jennifer first met Sylvester at a restaurant in Beverly Hills, California, in 1988. They then tied the knot on May 17, 1997. The pair recently celebrated their silver wedding anniversary on social media.
