The Chicks‘ latest album Gaslighter bowed at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Top Country Album charts.
Gaslighter earned 84,233 equivalent album units in its first week, according to Nielsen Music. The album also debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard‘s all-genre 200 chart as well as at No. 1 on the Top Albums chart with 71,467 units in album sales.
Gaslighter is the band’s first album in 14 years and the follow-up to 2006’s Taking The Long Way. The 12-track record was produced by Jack Antonoff and is available via Columbia Records.
Gaslighter was originally set to drop on May 1 but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The trio formerly known as The Dixie Chicks changed their band name to The Chicks after 31 years in response to the Black Lives Matter movement, which was triggered by the killing of George Floyd.
