Well, this is certainly one way to handle getting fired…
In the months since TJ Holmes and Amy Robach’s shocking affair was exposed and the two were removed from their Good Morning America hosting gigs, they haven’t been able to stay out of the spotlight. From talks of being “in love,” to TJ being spotted RING shopping ahead of his lover’s 50th birthday, and a steamy getaway to Mexico, they’ve really been leaning into the whole couple thing. But now, it looks like they’re taking their commitment to the next level… And trying to make some money while doing so!
According to DailyMail.com, the duo are in the midst of an aggressive pitch for a NEW daytime show of their own, which the outlet says could rival Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’ forthcoming talk show — the answer to Ryan Seacrest’s departure from Live with Kelly and Ryan.
While details of the show’s format have been kept minimal, insiders say the goal is for an “up close and personal” chat show, which the controversial couple are currently pitching to CBS, NBC, and CNN — after ABC cut ties with the two in late January.
This could be a HUGE ratings boost for any involved network! As we mentioned earlier, the two haven’t been able to stay out of the spotlight ever since their affair was unearthed. And ratings for GMA3 got a huge boost after the affair news!
Apparently, industry word is that many in the daytime TV realm think ABC made a mistake by letting the two go, with one executive telling the outlet:
“Think about it: You have a show with two attractive hosts that does pretty well and then boom — the sexy romantic drama of the decade unfolds with your two stars. Who wouldn’t want to watch them interact every day — see those sparks fly?”
Well, we really can’t disagree… We’d certainly have to tune in to see how the two interact on camera, at the very least, now that everything’s out in the open. But what if they broke up?? Well, that’s its own kind of drama, isn’t it? It’s certainly getting Vanderpump Rules a lot of attention right now.
The two have apparently been carrying out their plan in El Lay, where they just attended their first public event as a couple, for the late PR titan Howard Bragman’s funeral on Sunday.
Seems that either those severance checks are running out, or the duo is just ready for their next business venture. Either way, you can’t deny a show starring the two wouldn’t be salacious, to say the least! Would YOU tune in??
