The couple were at Freedom, a gay bar in Soho, when he allegedly ‘threw a drink over a female events promoter’ in the early hours of Thursday morning and she responded with a ‘punch’ to his head.
While he is yet to comment publicly on the matter Mr Black was seen enjoying family time amid claims he was involved in other altercations on the evening – with other revellers claiming to have been ‘pushed’ by him inside the venue.
The American director, 48, kept a low-profile on the stroll through London as he dressed in all black and donned sunglasses.

His husband, 28, seemed in good spirits on the outing, following on behind in a fitted vest and pair of shorts.
The day before the married couple had been drinking at the venue with Teddy Edwardes, 32, who stars in BBC3 show The Big Proud Party Agency, after having dinner at Avo Mario and watching a drag show at Chinatown’s Ku Bar.
But Ms Edwardes claimed that Mr Black threw a drink in her face after she asked another person in the venue to leave her table.

She then said that she gave Mr Black ‘a little tap on the back of the head’ in response, however a source close to the couple said that someone ‘punched’ Mr Black ‘in the back of the head’.
Ms Edwardes was then removed from the club, and the police were called, she said.
She later shared a message from an Instagram follower who said they were also at the club and claimed Mr Black had put his hands on them.
The anonymous poster claimed: ‘I was there last night, he pushed me and called me a b***h for no reason.’

Posting on Instagram, Ms Edwardes, founder of Lick events, said: ‘I went out for a couple of quiet drinks with my friends last night, nothing crazy, and I bumped into Tom Daley and his husband in Soho, who… pretty much unprovoked he threw an entire drink over me in Freedom.
‘I didn’t have a drink to throw back so I did choose violence, it wasn’t that violent, he got a little tap on the back of the head.
‘Tell me why he is crying outside saying it’s a targeted attack and that he’s traumatised and called the police, and I had to wait there for hours whilst the police were asking questions.
‘And now I have been cautioned and I have to go in for interviews.’

She later posted: ‘I won’t be accepting the caution for everyone asking and will be filing a victim statement.’
A source close to Mr Daley and Mr Black said that the couple were on a ‘date night’ without their four-year-old son Robbie last night.
‘Someone punched Lance in the back of the head, the person who punched him was removed from Freedom by security who checked CCTV, it was reported to police who are looking into it,’ they told The Sun .
Ms Edwardes later posted online that Mr Daley was ‘lovely’ during the incident, and tried to ‘diffuse the situation’.

She added: ‘For everyone asking what happened, we basically invited them to where we were sitting and I bought them some drinks etc, everything was fine.
‘And then this random guy came and sat with us and my friend said they felt uncomfortable because they didn’t know who it was so I asked security if they could move them on…
‘The security came to move them on and Tom’s husband started going mad saying how unwelcome I’ve made him feel and that he was leaving, so I was like OK? If that’s what you want? Then got straight drink to the face.’
Ms Edwardes shared responses to her Instagram post in which her followers had claimed to have had run-ins with Mr Black in the past.
One post read: ‘Omg his husband started on my friend too because she ordered Tom a shot which he said yes to.
‘She went to the bar to buy a round and offered Tom one and he said ves and then the husband went mental age and he PUSHED HER out the way.’
Another claimed: ‘This was the exact same sort of experience I had with them. I was volunteering at student pride in London one year and he kicked off at me over nothing and was so verbally abusive.

‘You could tell Tom was so embarrassed and was telling him to calm down. I felt really sorry for Tom. I think the words that actually came out of lances mouth at one point were ‘do you know who lam’ @ he didn’t like the answer ‘tom Daley’s husband?’ Much.’
Another user commented: ‘He’s a nasty piece of work. No this man is so scary, I met them before in a club and I wanted to get a photo with Tom and it was like he pierced through my soul with his eyes and he pushed me out the way.’
MailOnline has contacted Mr Black’s representatives for comment.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said that they were called to the Wardour Street venue just before 12.30am on Thursday, ‘following reports of an altercation involving a man in his 40s and a woman in her 30s’.
They said that no arrests have been made, and that enquiries are continuing.
