Gervinho insists Mohamed Salah’s exceptional work rate is behind his success.
The Egyptian has already scored eight times this term, adding to his record-breaking debut season at Anfield.
Salah arrived from Roma back in 2017, having briefly played alongside former Arsenal forward Gervinho during his time in Italy.
It was Salah’s arrival in the Italian capital that effectively spelt the end for Gervinho and the Ivorian admits he could only watch in awe at his teammate.
"Salah is a tough guy. Always calm and strong, with the mentality of a hard worker," Gervinho, who is now at Parma, told the Guardian.
"I’ll never forget his training sessions: very high rhythm, pushed like a madman, you watched him in amazement.
"He had a sort of positive effect – you saw Salah and wanted to work harder. Talent and sacrifice.”
Gervinho also played alongside Eden Hazard at the start of the Belgian’s career at Lille.
On the Chelsea star, he added: "I knew Eden would become a global star. He had feet, mind, body and class: everything you need to become a champion
Former Arsenal star Gervinho moved to Parma this summer after a brief spell with Hebei China Fortune.
He has enjoyed something of a revival back in Serie A, scoring four times in eight appearances for his new club.
