Chester racegoers in colourful frocks kick off the weekend early by cracking open the bubbly

THE weather might be hit and miss in Chester, but that hasn't dampened the spirits of these racegoers.

Dressed to the nines for the third and final day of the annual Boodles May Festival, revellers at Chester Races are kicking off the weekend in style.

The Chester Cup – which is said to be the festival's highest profile race – takes place today, with a cash prize of an eye-watering £150,000.

And revellers flocked to the races in outlandish hats and a variety of bold prints – ready to kick off the weekend in style.

Despite the downpours, many wore sky-high heels, with hundreds of visitors starting their weekend with a day of boozing and betting.

Valentino Rockstud heels seemed to be a popular choice of footwear, with many racegoers opting for the £500 designer style.

One women channelled Meghan Markle in a Reiss midi dress, similar to a pregnancy style worn by the Duchess earlier this year.

While another lady – and bride-to-be – dressed head-to-toe in white, accessorising with a pair of pink sparkly sunglasses and a drink in each hand.

Another group of mates were colour co-ordinated, bringing the sunshine to Chester in yellow ensembles.

These women have certainly proved dressing to impress isn't just reserved for Ladies Day.

Earlier this week, we told you ASOS is selling a £12 grey maxi dress which is completely see-through and shoppers are very confused.

We also revealed one wedding guest worries she’ll upstage the bride in her dress – but her fellow mums have a very different opinion.

And we showed you Fashion Nova is selling a pair of super ripped pink jeans – and shoppers joke ‘my foot would go through every one of these holes’.
