LOOKING elegant is probably the last thing you're worried about when trying to get in and out of a swimming pool.

Whether you're on holiday or at home, it's just something you probably don't think twice about.

But in a clip shared on TikTok by elegance coach Lucy Challenger, she revealed the proper way to go about it.

If your a fan of cannonballing into the pool, think again.

According to Lucy the first thing you should do is leave your flip flops near the edge of the pool so you can quickly take them on and off.

She explained: "If there's a rail you should use one, but if there isn't you should either use the steps carefully and slowly, or you can sit on the edge and slide yourself in."

The elegance coach demonstrated how to do both versions like a pro and showed herself slowly walking into the pool.

She added a useful tip: "Before you exit the pool you should make any adjustments of your swimming costume or bikini within the water, don't do it has you exit."

To exit to pool, Lucy revealed that you should simply walk up the steps slowly and carefully, before putting your flip flops back on.

If you're not a fan of steps, you could always try Lucy's second method and lower yourself into the pool from the edge.
