THERE'S a lot behind a name, especially when it comes to your future kid's moniker.
A woman has taken to social media to spill some family drama regarding her chosen baby name – and everyone is saying her sister is in the wrong.
In a Reddit post shared to the group "Am I The A**hole," a woman said that she and her husband agreed on a baby name very early on in their dating journey, in the event that they ever had a child.
About 13 years ago they grew attached to the name 'Mark,' as they both hoped for a son, and would occasionally refer to their future kid by the name.
According to the woman, her sister and entire family were well aware of her and her husband's interest in the name Mark.
At the time, her sister even noted that she was interested in a different name for her own future baby.
Fast forward five years and the woman's sister was pregnant with a boy. She announced that she would call him – wait for it – Marcus. She started calling him Mark for short, despite previously not showing an interest in the name.
The frustrated Reddit poster explained how she and her husband approached the situation.
She wrote: "My husband and I were annoyed and reminded her of our naming intentions and told her that we would not be changing our minds if we were to have a son.
"She agreed to at least avoid calling him Mark (which was a lie, ironically she started calling him that a little before I started trying for a baby)."

The woman is now pregnant with a boy, and though she "loves" her little nephew, her name choice has not changed.
Her sister is "livid" about the situation, while the family is pressuring her and her husband to change their minds about a name they apparently had prepped for years.
"We did try to think of alternates but no other names feel right," the woman shared.
She's now wondering whether or not she's in the wrong for wanting to name her future son Mark despite her sister's protests.
Reddit users flooded the comments section of the post with their own two cents, many feeling that the woman's sister was wrong for being upset.
One person wrote: "You had already made your intentions clear about naming your child. If even after knowing it for so long they have a problem, I would have just [let] them suffer the heartburn and merrily go on about my life. Some people's tantrums are not worth the headache."
Another user made some valid points when they said: "No one owns a name. And in a lot of families, it's common to have multiple people with the same name. Our family is full of Johns, there's one I know with Carls and Carlys, and another full of Barbaras. It happens.
"The upside is that when they're visiting and you yell for the boys to come in to eat, you only have to yell one name instead of two!"
A third person said: "Sister can't trademark 'Mark.' Go for it. The Marks will figure out for themselves how to handle this."
And a final person not fond of the sister's actions said: "If she knew you were planning on calling your own child 'Mark' someday, then she only has herself to blame if you now call your child 'Mark' and she doesn't like it!
"It's none of anyone else's business, so when she enlists other family members to pressure you, feel free to tell them that you have the naming process for your own child firmly under control and don't need input.
"There are no mysteries or surprises here. Your sister made choices."
