A WOMAN has hit back at meanies who reckon her side hustle of selling old tights is embarrasing.

The rising costs have forced many to find ways to rake in extra cash – and redhead Holly Rose is no exception.

The woman, who now sells old tights after wearing them, claimed that she used to work in a school – but after some time realised that wasn't enough.

''I did have a normal job. I was a high school science teacher and I absolutely hated it,'' Holly explained in a video.

''The pay was absolutely crap. I just branched out and tried something different, and well, it's working for me.''

Since then, Holly, believed to be from the UK, has begun posting dozens of videos of herself on TikTok, where her account has over 67k followers.

The redhead regularly stuns her fans rocking different colour tights she's often paired with a bodysuit or a figure-hugging mini dress.

But despite making more money and finding herself more than one hopeful would-be Romeo, Holly has also been subjected to trolling online.

Many insist that not only is this not a ''normal job'', but that she should also be ashamed.

Whilst someone said they were ''embarrassed' for her, others thought her side hustle was ''sad''.

A growing number of people have also started to look more into the porn industry as a way of making cash – but what's the real deal behind it?

How much do porn stars get paid?

Generally, male performers earn less than female actresses in the porn industry.

It's hard to generalise how much porn actors get paid since there aren't many regulations, and there is a large discrepancy between those starting their careers, to established adult stars.

And those behind the scenes aren't paid nearly as well as their Hollywood counterparts, despite the industry's multi-billion pound price tag.

That's according to founder of LA Direct Models, Derek Hay, a man who represents many top adult performers and used to work as an actor himself.

In 2017, he told The Independent a female actress could expect to earn £800 for a scene with a man, and £550 for a scene with another woman.

That said, this pay could vary  by 10-20 per cent either way, depending on who the actor is and whether they are well known.

Jobs in the porn industry are not as lucrative as people might expect, even for performers at the top of their game.

Derek added: "I don’t think that adult stars make as much money as the general public perceives them to make.

"I don’t think there’s anybody, even the biggest stars, who are making more than half a million a year.

"But if some of the top stars are making £240,000 to £320,000 per year, by most people’s perception that would still be a lot of money I think."

Derek said it was a "universally known" fact that women are paid "a lot more" than men – but blokes get the opportunity to do more jobs.

Actors also earn premium rates as an incentive to perform scenes they haven't done before.

According to Emlii, the highest paid female porn star is Bree Olsen, who reportedly has a net worth of roughly five million dollars.

As for the men, Johnny Sins reportedly comes out on top with an estimated net worth of five million dollars.

Do porn stars earn more in other countries?

The producer's location does matter, as porn stars earn less in Eastern Europe and Russia than those working in LA or Western Europe.

There are also laws in different countries surrounding the minimum age, and what sort of content is allowed to be produced, so if one prohibits certain scenes, the money made from the film itself may be lower.
