IF YOU have ever worked in retail then you probably have some bizarre and awkward customer stories ingrained into your brain.
And one woman knows all too well just how awkward customers can be.
Emma Dunne, from the UK, revealed she used to work in Argos and that there was one customer interaction that will be seared on to her brain forever.
She took to her TikTok account, edunnex, to share the bizarre experience.
While working at the catalogue retailer Emma revealed she came across some very bizarre moments – one that included a proposal.
In the TikTok video, Emma revealed that a man had come in to buy a wedding ring.

Once she had showed it to him in person she offered her customer service asking if he liked it.
She was stunned when he then got down on one knee to his girlfriend then and there and proposed to her.
To top it off, he only went on to purchase the ring once his girlfriend had accepted the proposal leaving Emma stunned.
“The awkward ‘congrats’ after," she captioned the post.

The video soon went viral with over 680k views and over 24k likes – many people weighed in on the situation while other former Argos workers shared their customer stories.
One wrote: “that's actually so smart,” another said: “Who buys a wedding ring at Argos?”
Another person commented: “When you're in a stable relationship you can do any old thing and it's romantic or funny or both, you zoomers wouldn't get it.”

Meanwhile, a fourth added: “Fellow Argos worker here, I had someone buying a ring and made me try it on because they thought my fingers looked the same as hers.”
