IT'S one of the most popular takeaway choices in the UK.

But those who aren't fans of a Chinese often slam the eateries for using "fake" chicken – because it's square.



However, Chinese chef Chin hit back at the "ignorant" assumption in a video on his TikTok page – as he showed just how cooks at Chinese takeaways prep their chicken.

"So I get this question quite a lot," he began.

"Well, not question – just more of an ignorance.

"When people go, ‘Oh, they don’t use real chicken because it’s square’.

"Now, I’ll show you why this is the case."

Using a real chicken breast that had been poached in egg, cornflour and a bit of bicarbonate of soda, Chin cut it into thirds because it was too thick.

"Then we cut it into sections and then we cut it into small chunks like that," he said.

"That’s why you get the square bits – not because it’s fake f**king chicken.

"Have people never encountered a knife before?!" one person commented on the video.

To which Chin replied: "It’s just so annoying, then it’s always followed by 'bet it’s dog/cat'."

"I cannot believe you had to explain this," someone else wrote.

"Has no one ever diced chicken before?" a third asked.

"I’ve never once considered that the chicken wasn’t real… what?!" another commented.

With Chin replying: "It’s constant, you wouldn’t believe it."
