'Change the way you react to your kid is to work with your mindset'
“Now what I’m going to share with you here, is going to be absolutely life changing for you and your child’s mental health.
“Fact number one, the way you talk to your child becomes their own internal voice towards themselves.
“Just let that sink in for a moment.
“So if you are giving them negativity, yelling, or shouting, then guess what?
"That’s how they’re going to talk to themselves when they’re having a tough time.
“The way you talk to your child essentially shapes their mind and it’s because of you and not them because our reactions start within us.
“Our child can behave a certain way, but we always have a choice of how we react to them.
“Now I get it, it doesn’t always feel like you have a choice.
“But the one thing that forms your reactions is number one, your mindset.
“This is how you’re thinking about what it is the child’s doing that’s making you so angry.
“So one thing you can do today to change the way you react to your kid is to work with your mindset.”
But the video sparked debate with over 700 people rushing to comments to share their thoughts.
One wrote: “Nonsense tried and tested. Gentle parenting… if I don’t shout they don’t listen and they try walking all over you. Give them love but there is a line.”
'Immature parenting'
To which she replied: “This isn’t gentle parenting. There’s something in between.
"We can be firm without shouting. They listen out of fear when you should. It's not healthy.”
Another parent wrote: “Think unless you're in their household and see what the kids are like you shouldn’t judge. I shout at mine because sometimes they don’t listen till I do.”
And the Conscious Parenting Coach replied: “I’ve worked with kids for 17 years and I have a strong willed kid, I know how hard it is with different kids. We still have a responsibility to control.”
